Title: Low tier weps get more benefit from looming
Post by: owens on August 17, 2015, 04:39:42 pm
I think this not only makes sense but would make some of the outright weaker weapons more attractive to loom. Dadao is one example. Many of these weapons are unique and it would be pretty cool to have a unique and potent weapon.

I am not asking for them to be as good as the most powerful weapons but I think they should get some extra benefit.

I am sure you could justify this with rp somehow.

edit: I also think a different loom bonus should be considered. for example +4 to cut and +0 to speed for the mil scythe. Maybe the best  or worst characteristic of a weapon could be enhanced.
edit2: boar spear is probably okay as is.

lol all the low tier weapons are actually not that bad. Boar spear? GTX only used that one in duels after his respec. Things like the one handed practise sword or the staff.... damn op. dadao has 44 cut and 97 speed when loomed :D that's actually pretty good even though the range sux^^

But that's already the case. +3 dmg to a 25dmg weapon is relatively a much bigger increase than +3 to a 35dmg weapon.

i was thinking the opposite for armors actually. loom bonuses should be percentage based imo.

I am aware that it makes a larger difference by percentage. However if the weapon is initially and ultimately inferior I see little reason to use make a +3 version of it.

A greater or unique loom bonus would increase the variety of +3 main weapons that people use.

Club is a perfect example of how it should be done. +3 brings it from the peasant category to the same level with the flanged, knobbed and spiked maces. Doesn't make it OP, but perfectly balanced. I wouldn't mind if the pitch fork for example would get similar or even bigger bonuses. Even +10 stab damage wouldn't make it overpowered compared to the Awlpike. It's a oneslotter though so needs to have somewhat worse stats.

Boar spear already gets huge bonuses when loomed, making it one of the best polearm weapons and by far the best 1 slot polearm.

Lol there is a reason why people buy the expensive gear. If somebody tells me that my +3 warhammer does the same dmg as a stick or something similar i gonna gtfo. I guess the weapons are fine as they are atm, just imagine the peasant gear in strat to be op when loomed K. That would suck cocks in hell!

^You are good at retelling the same opinion as if it was an ultimate unyielding truth without contributing anything constructive.
