Title: Short suggestion
Post by: BlackxBird on August 06, 2015, 05:16:17 pm
Instead of using Red Team and Blue team in MB, there should be actually the most sucessfull/most important/biggest/best/most active clans/factions from cRPG as names, that would be really amazing! Well but they should be the fiting one, like DRZ should not be on a NA server or teutonic on EU! How does that sound? :3

It sounds like you have an overinflated estimation of the relevancy of cRPG for the new game.

well in native the teams are called like the factions in the singleplayer. I think I'd rather have something like Grey Order vs. Mercenaries than Blue Team vs. White team... pretty annoying in cRPG that nobody gave a fuck about that^^

I took it as being sandbox overall. So clan A is attacking clan B's castle...

They dropped some hints that they may have a 'casual' server where it's team A vs team B with constant fighting but that the main thing is the sandbox

Yeah there would have to be battles that aren't important for the Epic scene in other words: casual battles.

In relation to OP and quoted post: a cool feature would be that the battles are randomly generated as skirmishes along Epic map's frontlines fx: around an ongoing siege, a long contested borders etc..
This way the teams would be named after the lord or factions that are involved in these skirmishes.

I am sure they will implement small tidbits for their crpg community here and there  : )

But they would need to have some meaning for the political sphere of the game. Otherwise they'd be kinda pointless.

Only in the same way that EU1/NA1 is pointless, and all native servers are pointless.

That's the casual gamemode for people who just want action. And the dev team did mention the possibility of some small perks or unlocks that apply from one to the other, but nothing that makes you actually stronger and means you *need* to play both

Yes, but why would that be battles on the front line if it had no effects on the greater game? In that case it should be totally seperate from it.

Each tile will be controlled by a player/faction which constitutes meaningful "spheres" and if some of these tiles are contested or bordering enemy tiles they could obviously be considered frontlines.

It doesn't need to have an impact on the game. Causual/jump-in mode shouldn't make factions and players lose/gain resource in epic, because then it wouldn't be casual... :D

The whole point of the connection to the game was to find meaningful names for teams, so they aren't simply named after colours (e.g. Blue team) or some other meaningless stuff.
