Title: 5 v 5 Tournament

Sign ups are hereby open and will be closing on August 14th. Only 16 teams will be entering. (First come first serve.)
It will begin August 15th, Saturday at 7:00Pm EST
Hosted on Na_Crpg_8_Events server.
Anyone may enter. (You're all welcome Europeans!)
If necessary, the password to the server will be: dupre

If your team name is called and all five members are not ready; your match will be postponed for 5-10 minutes and the tournament will continue while having your match on standby. If you fail to show up after all fights in the current round of the tournament your team will then be disqualified. (I will contact you via steam.)
The tournament will be five on five double elimination.
Ostulor and I will both be hosting the tournament.
You may use masterwork equipment!
I shortened the team name if it was too long.

TOURNAMENT RULES
1) The team leader must add me on steam: JayJrod
2) Only one ranged weapon may be used per team.
3) No cavalry allowed.
4) Players must use a "skip the fun" character.
5) Stats must not be altered during a match. (You may change between matches.)
6) Equipment cost must be 30,000 gold or less. (No limit on weapons.) (Being 1 gold over will result in disqualification.)
7) The map will be taking place on "Outpost Village".
8) First team to win three rounds will advance.
9) Entering the arena when you're not obligated to will result in a disqualification as well as a ban. (I'm willing to be lenient about this. Mistakes will be made.)
10) The item "Crowned Helm" will be considered a 7,000 gold cost item.
11) Be sure to have your characters team names exactly how it is spelled on the participant list. - Contact me if I spelled your name incorrectly.
12) Only one crush through weapon may be used per team.
13) Only two shields may be used per team.
14) Substitutions are allowed. They will take the position of the participant on the team permanently. You may sub as many times as you'd like. You may not substitute if you're already on a team.

Any team(s) or individual(s) that miss their chance to enter: You may spectate the tournament and take the place of any team who does not have the designated amount of members to participate.

BONUS

We'll be doing a FREE FOR ALL to get things started at 7:00 Pm. (EST)
All 16 teams AND the spectators may join for this mini-event.

Everyone will pick the top sided team. I (JayJrod) will be the only one on the bottom team. I will not be participating in the FFA. I will off to the side and watch you all kill one another! - this is to ensure the round does not end if one team all dies. (Do not attack me.)

Friendly fire is set to 100% damage.

There are no rules on teaming up with other teams. There can only be one team crowned victor though.
If a spectator wins. They are the only victor.
The map will be taking place on "Booty Island" (If you fall down the large drop and miraculously survive. You are disqualified.)
I shall announce that we are going to start the free for all. I will restart the map, then we will all enter the arena. Once the timer hits 14:00 it will begin (The map starts at 15:00 which means you'll have 60 seconds to get ready.) If anyone hits another player before the 14:00 mark, you will be banned from this tournament, and possibly future events.
You're allowed to hide all you want.
Please do not press cntl + m.

That's the point.  No one else knew what the format of the next tourney would be (the poll was still open) or when it would take place until you made this thread.  By which time you had already assembled a team that might not otherwise exist if everyone was made aware of the tourney details at the same time.  Blatant corruption.

I had a selected amount of people that agreed to go with me no matter what type of tournament it was. I told a number of people it was going to be a 5 v 5 tournament. You're just being ignorant.

How did you know it would be a team tourney anyways?  The poll was very close between 1v1 and 5v5, a difference of only 4-5 votes after basically a single day (after poll was remade).  Good thing you closed it before it could derail your plans!

How did a vote for 5v5 even go through? Did five people who were already prepared for it vote twice on 5v5 successfully creating +10 votes in one category?

How many players, who could actually compete in a tournament on crpg, actually have five friends who also could compete on a tournament in crpg?

There will be 2-3 tryhard teams that have a chance, and the rest are a group of friends just joining for fun with virtually no chance of winning. Easy way to get a free 20-50m exp and a bunch of nice items for those who already have a competitive team.

There is no way to recruit any decent players without joining their clan and shit, or knowing them outside of crpg.

You already have two teams stacked full of the champions of every other tournament or runner ups.

I mean this can seriously only be fun for three types of people:
1. Those who are already champions.
2. Those who already have 5 player team.
3. Those who aren't competitive at all and will just play for fun with no actual intention to win.

Everyone else has two weeks to somehow discover a previously undiscovered crpg top 20 best fighters in NA player, only...FIVE times lmao.

Bro, calm down. First off its team based, 5 average players with excellent team work can easily defeat 5 good players who try to be leet hax0r duelists and get mobbed and die. It happened in the 2v2 when Oj and Thumper beat Jay and Lubu through amazing teamwork. Its not hard to get 5 players together, it took me a total of like 2 hours to get a team.

Good luck with your...team. In a 2v2, yes, a top player can make a mistake lol. 4-5 top players are far less likely to and Jay and Lubu specifically aren't making the same mistake twice. I could get a team of unknowns together in 2 hours and lose also, I was commenting on the difficulty of finding a winning team; players who are known for teamwork and/or personal skill.

You may reserve a spot as long as you sign with atleast three members and add the others at another time.

 Beer mug? Doesnt seem like a worthy reward why not the Looney Toons axe or Boulder on a Stick??? Those are some cool rewards or better yet like the 3v3 tournament how about able to Rename a weapon with better stats? thats the best reward ever  :D :D :D

This is silly in it's own way. The last crown holders got to keep theirs for like 2 months, kao gets to keep his for only a couple of weeks, while the original had theirs for god knows how long. Not to mention they were all awarded for very different types of events. idk the inconsistency is a little whack to me

Anyway not complaining for how many tournaments there are, it is a really good thing we are getting events like this, but for something special like the crowned helmet there should be some degree of consistency to it

The only thing I find dirty about this tournament is that JJrod put together the winning team... before the tournament existed. Obviously it wasn't a fix, and PK had to earn their win against a very well organized team, but I think that in the interest in fairness and transparency that the organizer should not take part in the tournament. I realize that the number of people willing to go to all the trouble of organizing a tournament are few, but I can't see any other way around it.

I watched it live and the guy with the mallet tried to hit somebody. Then when Jay told him that 2 crush throughs weren't allowed he walked like for 5 seconds and dropped it than. Still he used it -> breaking the rules -> dq. Just accept it.

Subs were allowed throughout, we just felt a team composition change was necessary to fight some of the other more aggressive melee oriented teams. I.E your squad, the Jews, and PK.

14) Substitutions are allowed. They will take the position of the participant on the team permanently. You may sub as many times as you'd like. You may not substitute if you're already on a team.

you dont need to put up a trade, it'll be transferred to your character. And they need the name of the character you want the gold to go to.
