There is some kind of backer alpha since july. They expected the 'real' alpha to be a month or two later, but since they had to put some time in finding investors, that date has moved a bit further up the calender.

I think they updated it once after the Kickstarter. But that is a long time ago.
Though I don't get why more people didn't actually play it. It was pretty fun because it had a lot of features that are different from cRPG/M&B.
I don't know if it is still working since my desktop is fried :( Otherwise it would be fun to set up a duel tournament or something for an hour or two. You only need to port forward to be able to host :D

I thought no rules referred to that backer MVP or so stated in the update thread and that I completely missed it.

That would suck if we can't play it straight away, but it also makes sense sadly because the people who backed first have the priority I guess...
Well, still hope we c-rpg players get a chance to be one of the first to play M:BG even tho many are not scholars and sheet. (I would be a scholar now if I didn't miss it out when you were able to get that scholar status and I think I'm not alone with that, lol)
But still, alpha is cummminnnggggg.

Afaik, there is a non-backer alpha planned. Unless their plans are going to change.
