Title: What build/equipment gives the most damaging shield bash

I know nothing about the shield bash formula. What determines damage? Distance? Does shield skill count? Shield weight?

Seems like a speedy 1H character who focuses on shield bash would be a fun new build for my newly retired alt. Any tips? Have you played as a shield basher before?

The sword of a Paladin represents the might of righteousness and his shield symbolizes the strength of his faith. Both are tools he uses to mete out justice. Fairly certain Shield skill and shield weight are the main modifiers.

Ask Macbeth he know all the formulas,  atleast thats what he told me

Probably strength factors in as well. Interesting thread. Always cool to try and pinpoint hidden game mechanics.

I don´t really think it will be possible to damage players with heavy armors, but maybe u can 3-5 hit archers :3 I remember danior running for me like 2 minutes while I was just backpaddeling with my archer and blocking. When the round time was almost over he nudged me and I lost more than 50 % of my life  :mrgreen:

I forgot everthing but if I had to guess I'd say I used shield skill, shield weight and strength as modifiers. I think the damage is capped early anyway so you can't really abuse it with a focus build.

Good enough answer for me. I was hoping to do a build with heavy board shield, long pavise, or steel shield anyway. Shield skill will probably be very high compared to the average user (want my slow ass shield to block as fast as lighter shields do with less skill), so I'm already most of the way there. Now I just need to figure out how much I can gimp my ath/WM to boost str and PS.
