Title: "Forced" hybridization, anyone?
Post by: Admerius on May 25, 2015, 06:10:17 pm
This is a bit extreme idea to address, what I see as a problem, the high wpf Matrix style swings.
This will also make hybrids based on two old(Pre lvl 35 patch)lvl 31-34 builds more popular then the current popularity of lvl 35+ builds.

The idea is simple,
increase skill point cost for high skill levels.

What's the problem with full str builds ? Please enlighten me, just how can something that can barely move be overpowered ? If you get killed by a full str, you're doing something wrong.

For ANY focused build, there's a drawback. When it comes to ideas, anything extreme is bad.

Why put penalties on builds that are worse than balance builds? Whats with the obsession of making the game only viable for balance builds? You can call them troll builds but some people do prefer them over the standard balance builds. I've already given in to balance builds, but i still like having the choice of playing my 12-39, because its completely different to play.

Suggestion 1 would nerf balanced builds down to old school values: 24/21 becomes 21/21 <---- That's my vote.
The suggestions are mostly there to see if anyone thought along the same lines as I did when writing the post and providing options for those that want to force more balanced builds but not touch their own precious 24/21.

As He-S-Key-Time said: I'm playing strength build now and both my alts that I currently try to gen-up are str(56/3,30/15 and 30/12) builds as well. I wouldn't mind messing around with their builds if those "lovers of balanced builds" didn't cry so much... Sadly none of those figments of my imagination has appeared... it seems like I failed to attract them so far.

One last try:
I hate 24/18 build! It feels more like hack and slash chivalry then the crpg I luv

TLDR: Oops this was a brain fart Sorry!

I hereby denounce and reject my own reasoning from yesterday.

Your comments made me realize that this is a really bad idea, I can't honestly remember what I was thinking and I do apologize for taking up your time with such a poorly thought out topic.

Apology declined, stick by your poor reasoning untill the end, that is how the world works afterall. Never retreat, never surrender

Full str/agi is absolutely not op. It's even harder to play without ps/if or wpf/ath!

But for example I hate playing balanced builds. You are allways slower or weaker than the enemy. With a str build I know Im slower than 90% of the server and than I can deal with that cuz I won't ever try being faster :)
