Thought about getting a game going to bring back some old names but also let new players get their time in the spotlight. Not sure if this is the correct thread since it IS related to cRPG (Only cRPG). Please move it if it belongs in any other thread! Let's keep this thread clear of hate and un-necesary evil please :rolleyes:
So the game is Top 10 old AND new players. Pick your top 10 of the most outstanding players since the start of cRPG, my old friendcher legends, epic 2h heroes, silly longspear helicopters. Mention them all! To clear things up you are doing 2 lists (10 old and 10 new players, 2 lists). One for old players who's been around for a while and one for new players. Always amusing to see new legends rise in the cRPG community! You can ONLY pick 10, so make sure you think through every choice! Would be fun to have a small explanation of your players.
So, i'll start doing mine. Imo i've been around way to long to only pick 10 people but i'll do my best. Please note that there are so many players i will not mention i respect and think deserves their place in my top 10. But a top 10 is a top 10. :wink:
OLD PLAYERS
1- Phyrex - One of the most complete 2h heroes. Everything fom bashing people in siege with your great maul to being one of the most fierce duelers out there imo. Appretiate everything you taught me during my time in 22nd if you read this :wink:
2- Bagge - You know that feeling when you finally get to a archer and just easily slash them down? That doesn't happen.
3-Lezard - Unbalanced or balanced, doesn't matter. Just slash'em all down. Lots of respect to you!
4 - Hearst - Remember back in the days when you kicked everything walking around, even horses ROFL. The reason to why kicks where nerfed :rolleyes:
5- Blueberrymuffin - You are a complete tank bro! Dominating every class there is and being a awesome person!
6- Lalien - Old school cav, one of the best cavs of all time imo. Big up lalien!
7 - Zerobot - Finds heads on headless people.
8 - Urist - That has to be autoblock ... :wink:
9 - Kastu - A very good friend of mine and also a fierce xbower and 2h hero. Complete player is this mans middle name.
10 - Harleyquinn - Out of this world.
Hard to pick my top 10 but this is the closest i'll get to my ideal. Also worth a mention, great friends and legends, Dezilagel, Candiru, Bushido, Baldrider, Bjord, Spamwhore, Parre, PolePoop, Mendro, Otto_Knight, Strudog, DaveUKR, Quantum, Phase, Yilwina, Qoray and many more. Would fit you all in if i could.
NEW PLAYERS
1- Crab - does it good with the spamitar :wink: jokes aside. Watch out for this man!
2 - Zero_Sat - That throwing lance is literally making me shit.
3- Kreus - Very impressive. Not familiar with you but i like what i see!
4- Logolas - impressed by you! Not sure if you're still playing but you're a bad ass mate!
5 - Black_Bird - Like your playstyle bud. Not sure how long you've been around but i'll include you here!
6- Athelar - One of my new personal favourites :rolleyes: you might have been around for a while though haha!

Unfortunately i haven't been around that much lately. Just came home from a long vacation so i haven't been able to spot any other of what i can think of now. I'm sure im missing out on many new talents!

There are plenty of good players out there, but for me only 3 stand out.

BlueberryMuffin.
I picked the three above players, because no matter the class they played, they topped it pretty easily.
They didnt stick only to one or two classes like most, but they played every class with the same ease.

Good point but would still not be a problem since the players you play with the most are the ones in your clan. Five out of then has heritage from 22nd. Considering the width of that clan at that point i would not say that im affected by being one of them my self. Would include you aswell :wink:

On the other hand, 22nd really had a significant portion of the best players at some point.

With all the shit posted in crpg general discussion, I don't think anything could be wrongly placed there.
@lionheart: Strange that you didn't put Atze in top old player. He's the best at fighting multiple opponents imo.

It's true that clan mates often are the first ones you remember, but who could you argue about? Phyrex, bagge, Lezard and Urist are all worthy of a mention, surely?
Funny how there's tons of crap being posted in general discussion, but this ends up in off topic.

I'm not sure myself, to be honest. Maybe they have been, but not that I know of.

Have to weave in since there's some 22nd talk. Harleyquinn, Kastu and Ialien were not 22nd players (Harlequin however was a great 22nd player). Urist and me are the oldest 22nd members, with Phyrex joining a bit later on and bagge joining when 22nd became more of a gaming community.
As for me, I usually play too lazily to consistently do good (not saying I'd beat everyone if I didnt). Played with more focus back when I played competitive matches (native) and later some strategus. There was something more to fight for rather than "just"playing for fun and the e-peen. The EU tournament that's going on is pretty fun, but the mod is just too old to take anything too seriously.
Edit: I could never make a list in one of these threads, there's simply too many good players to consider and too many variables to judge. Still, I'll be able to sleep tonight becuase you put me in your list Lionheart )

Was referring to the 22nd harlequin, sorry for misleading there.
Lalien and kastu were NOT 22nd as lezard said. Considering Atze i was going to include him aswell. But since there's only 10 spots i chose to include phyrex instead. Not a biggie imo. They're both great players.
Saw Alexjei come up, miss that bud!

Wait, didn't we get mad at each other during 22nd training and dueled for quitting the game/clan(don't remember). In the end everyone got bored by permablock including myself and called it a day.

Non-clannies who i have fond/nostalgic memories of
Chimp is the only true hero of the mod. I remember being amazed when he attempted a chamber, and failed (kek), but it was still amazing to me that someone was good enought to try that over just blocking. Probably since just being able to block back then would net you more kills than you can count.
Polepoop the silent meatball, i like his armor set.
Bjord when he was Shogunate_Oda_Bjord (before i joined shogunate so it doesnt count) everyone called him and Ujin Oda even though it was just the sub clan title. Was amusing to watch him slaughter peasants with his vaegir elite armor and sword of cookies(or tears, w/e i dont know the difference still, havent used any of them).
Phyrex also meatball, fun duels were had, fighting someone who's better is a good time. Allthough i barely ever went to duel.
Gnjus camping bundle of sticks with xbow and shield, used to do well when everyone was shit. Also nose
Slickyricky my evil merc twin.
Cant think of anymore atm, special shoutout to ninjas, xp barn and bullets for 50k gold that i couldnt purchase in time before patch. Oh and also polestun, polearm overhead not ever hitting teammates, floorstab and longspear overhead. Oh and lance of compensation.

Well I see everyone is making serious lists so my top10 ;
1.Kpubopy4ka : Massive 2hander god, he defeated many macro feinters, spammers , IF stackers with classic decent 2h gameplay.I still admire him.
2.Massasin : Best sniper ever. Also he is a real hero with his 1h blocking skills
3.DaveUKR : Best sniper vol2. He always knew where to hide&aim , a real ambusher.
4.Chase : With every build he plays , he is always on the first in the scoreboard(dagger&shield horse archery included)
5.Hearst: As stated before, reason of the kick nerf.He was the most valuable player in his time.
6.Lacoste: alongside Knitler, he is the awlpike god but above that he is actually good at planning builds and cavalry or 2 handed.
7.ArtemRUS( yes for real ): He is pretty decent and he has 150 ping 24/7 . Most players would suck really hard with that ping.
8.Kunio: He is the best archer around for me , doubtless. He even was quite agile with 36/3 build after massive archer nerf, and his aiming skills was godlike.
9.OldKnight: Cav god, his manauver skills with courier was annoyingly admirable.
10.Vex: one of the first STR stackers, but he had 0 IF which made him more brutal than normal.

OLD PLAYERS
1- Hideyoshi - My, Taimics and Schmackofatz´ sensei. It´s been over 4 years now and I STILL haven´t seen a player with such a patience when it comes to duels. Doesn´t take risks and is without shield as dangerous as with shield. Everybody hated dueling him, even Georges or Chase. Betting all my looms that he could still wipe the floor with some of the pro players out there.
2 - Captain_Georges - Flamberge sword, plate armor, that´s Captain_Georges. Welcomes new people in the clan with a TK, chambers without even trying. Good team leader, eternal space marine.
3 - Blueberrymuffin - Blue like a berry, hurts like hell. One of the first guys in my early days I kept in mind as "top dog".
4 - ArtemRUS - High ping, still shootin like mad. I still remember a strat battle where he spent the whole battle (2 hours) on top of a well defended tower with a weapon rack. Had a KD a commander could only dream of afterwards.
5 - Chase - I remember him as a promising freshman in the clan, enjoyed it a LOT when he firstly beat Georges in some duels and claimed the "best player in clan" throne for him. If I had knewn that this only was the beginning...
6 - Knitler - Awlpike. God fucking damn Awlpike and Knitler. He mastered that weapon and also thaught a lot to his apprentice No_rules_just_play. Oh them days when HRE was rolling on the servers...
7 - Slickyricky - Always with a staff or some short spear, deserved his name cause he danced around you like an eel in an oily frying pan.
8 - Kinngrimm - Leader of Wolves clan. Founder of Fenris clan. Impressive, undying shielder and good guy. Loved to attack the backdoor in strat alone and being SUCCESSFUL with that.
9 - Belmont - Because bitches love Belmont.
10 - Bagge - Great archer. Nuff said.

OLD PLAYERS
1- Chase - just the best. Except at hoplite LOL.
2 - Bagge - Insane archer.
3 -Lezard - Really solid player, especially sticks out with the great bardiche feints.
4 - Kpu... - Never seen anyone chamber as effectively as this guy, doesn't matter what kind of attack you do, he will chamber it.
5- Saxon - Incredibly good 2h especially in the past couple years.
6- Oberyn - Really good cav aswell.
7 - Robinhuud - Guess he might be counted as newer, dont remember seeing him THAT long ago but gotta put him in as one of the best archers.
8 - Tommy - One of the players I envied back when I started, thought he was an excellent player.
9 - Massassin - Low armor, bad weapons and even with that I remember him winning an 8v1 and alike, a legend.
10 - Tor - Probably the best polearmer in the game.
11 - Polepoop - Had to add an eleventh and then go back to work, one of the best polearmers aswell, just always very solid and does very well.
As mentioned no time for new players since I have to get back to work, thought I'd throw out my list whilst bored on my lunchbreak hehe.
