Title: Does Ironflesh effect WPF in some way now?
Post by: Corsair831 on May 12, 2015, 07:06:24 pm
Hey!

I've recently started playing again, I heard there was some change to the way Ironflesh worked a while back but I can't find any info on it.
Does it effect movement speed or WPF now in some way?

Thanks, Corsair.

0.4.0.0
San: Dynamic weight threshold added. Changed from 10 to max(IF*2, strength/3 + 1) with a minimum of 6.
0.4.1.0
San: Wpf weight threshold changed to benefit low IF: max(6, Str/3 + IF)

So the more IF the more weight you can use before you start getting WPF malus

thanks. and if i wear no armour then i should also go for 0IF to maximise on WPF?

like IF lowers WPF if you have no armour i mean? struggling to understand what it says there (:

no, IF only decreases the wpf penalty while you wear heavy armor. There is no downside to invest IF if you think about wpf.

This is updated, you can test yourself

You actually think they'd make a system where you would lose wpf by having light armor and IF combined?

Common misconception.

I wouldn't get IF just for the WPF mechanic btw. You can get more WPF by just putting more points into stats and run faster. Or put the points into str and 1 ps for slightly less HP

I think it's a good thing they slightly buffed IF, it has always been the useless skill, where you put the remaining points you don't know what to do with. (it still is tho)

Ironflesh has never been useless man, shield skill is more useless than ironflesh, think of all the times you got headshot and survived with a little bit of HP left, ye it might of took 98% of your hp but the 4 points in ironflesh saved you that day and helped you survive that headshot and got you 4-5 kills later on in the round .

He's our special snowflake. It really has gotten to the point where corsair trolling and not trolling is impossible to tell apart, and thats not a good thing.

At this late stage, i'm not even sure myself.

I'm never sure if your trolling or not. You make it so difficult for us.

What it means is that, if you have 18 str or less and 0 IF (6 is minimum threshold) and wear no armour, you don't get wpf penalty, and, if you use armour, but it doesn't weigh more than 6 (minimum) (where head armour weight counts x2, body x1, hand x4, legs x1), then you don't get penalty either. If you wear armour that is heavier than 6, then you get wpf penalty equal to the difference between 6 and the rest of the weight.

If you have 24 str and 5 IF, then your weight cap would be 13 (24/3 + 5).
