Title: YUV component video signal

I know how all of you would just LOVE to help me with some exam revision!  :lol:

Could anyone explain to me how a YUV component video signal is produced from a full-bandwidth RGB video signal?

Working in a lab with 5 other CS and engineer PhD students, at one point one of us said "is there somebody good with computers here?" and everybody immediately stopped whatever they were doing to go see his screen.
