Title: If you could change retirement level what would you change it to?
Post by: Admerius on May 05, 2015, 05:05:06 pm
Who wanted to change the retirement level to 35?!

Now lvl 35->36 feels a lot less rewarding compared to 31->32

My reaction to (soft)lvl cap increase:
1st hour:  Hell yeah!
1 day later:  This is awesum!111 :)
1 Week later:  hmph... this is just a speedbonus game :?
1 month later:  2hits!? my 16ath 3 str alt survived three hits from that player! speedtanking>Armortanking :(
Now:  Let's practice chambering... and oh... I can have a 6 horse archery dedicated hx alt, well... at least krems are still playing :|

If hey changed it to lvl 25(twenty five, TWO FIVE) it would make more sense, this was just a shot of adrenalin which is now wearing off.

Everyone goes yay! 4 free levels tyvm devs! oops... everyone else got it too...

Nobody actually bothers to grind their level up to retire anyway.

I've said this in another thread. The problem is shitlords who don't retire hoarding levels in a typical shitlordly fashion. If they would've retired then there wouldn't be a great chasm between high level and moderately high level characters. But they don't retire, because they are shitlords and thus the cycle continues. Quit being shitlords and retire. Problem solved. Alas, it is not that easy. Shitlords gonna be shitlords. Shitlords.

Less than 50 players on all servers, including CHN, half of them leeching on DTV, and your problem is retirement level... Riiiight.

Why would I retire when I have all looms that I need, more money that i can spend, clan armory full of looms, alts for any class, I can retire once every week.
I accomplished everything that I wanted in crpg, so I just play for fun.
I dont really care about high lvl to be honest i never really had one but I will not retire anymore.

Damn Riiight, but unlike some I can be bothered by several things at once. This is one of many problems.

This is one of the root causes though...

For example changing it to lvl 25 would affect:
-Economy(more repairs due to less wpf), combat(9 less attribute and skillpoints)
-Map balance(eg. less athletics=more time spent in the open between cover)
-Weapon balance(Less hp=cry babies complaining about oneshot will actually be correct SOMETIMES)

As comparison: lvl 24 as the new lvl 34
Tincan Mauler(With current weapon/armor req unchanged):
Lvl 24
Str/Agi:24/9, PS:8, IF:3,WM:3,Ath:3

Lvl 34
Str/Agi:30/15, PS:10, IF:3,WM:5,Ath:5

I would hate it for a while, then adapt. It would imo also be newbie(and retirement) friendly(less one hits and fancy spam)

I do. Started leveling third alt (first is generation 32, second is generation 16). Can't really enjoy the mod without retiring for some reason. Especially when my first char is level 37 and second is level 36.

Grandmaster you become when you retire level 37 (old level 35) char. Have that title for a long time, never used it. Only titles worth of mention are custom titles.
