Title: Make softcap level 31 instead of level 30.

That way we can distribute 30 attributes evenly.

29 attribute points is odd, skills go every 3 and every 6.

You can convert skillpoints. I'm going to be 18/18 on level 30, with 2 Skillpoints turned into 1 Attribute point. I'll have iron flesh, power strike, athletics and weapon master at 6 and shields at 5.

That's not the point. 2 skillpoints is valuable for any hybrid.

You can still hit level 31.  And I believe the hard cap is 35.  So I think 30 is good for softcap, makes hitting 31 something special.

Yeah, I kind of like it.  It means there is still something to look forward to which takes some effort to get, that final capstone.  My lvl 30 still has one free skillpoint, just waiting to hit 21 strength and pick up an extra powerthrow and powerstrike.  It makes 31 special without making me weak.  You know, like how it used to be before strat/retirement.

Why don't you just ask for 4 or 5 skill points for starter characters ? With conversion, you'll be able to do it. I aim for 21/18 this time.

With the new retirement at level 31, this thread makes even more sense.  At the very least level 31 should not be twice the xp of level 30 total, start doubling xp requirments after level 31 and just make level31 and extra 1-2 million instead as the doubled xp is actually a rather random and arbitrary way to handle the leveling requirement rather than  areal consideration of gam mechanics and balance.  Its more in the nature of lets double it every level that should make it tough.  But with a retirement at level 31 (so most people will try to go above the supposed level cap of 30) it should be considered in the light of game balance and not making this game into a huge grind, even more so then pre-patch.

Making the game in a huge grind? Nobody is forcing you to retire. You WANT to grind, but you also want the advantages of that grind to come sooner, even though the advantages are sizeable.
