I'll be honest: can't wait.

I'm afraid tho that they again for the 124th time gonna waste precious 45 minutes of what could be glorious action on the "how he became..." part. ;_;

This is a serious problem with movies in the genre. We didn't need to see how John McClane became John McClane, how Yojimbo became Yojimbo, Max became Mad Max, Shark became Jaws, Legolas became Legolas, or Anakin became Darth Vader.

Don't even get me started on Spider-Man.

Save that stuff for comics, games, and other media.

Spiderman... ugh... how many times did they show that freaking nuclear spider now?

What a waste...

I agree, I hope they keep the back story to a minimal,  like how he got his name and became how he was. Wasn't he a supervillain at first, tasked to kill Cable and isn't that Cable in the trailer?

Edit: I guess its collosus

Saw it, was meh. My opinion may be clouded by the annoyance of unfortunate seating next to a girl who thought every single thing in the movie was the funniest thing she's every heard/seen. I swear she was laughing more/louder than the entire theater combined, it was awful. I was very prepared for people laughing at the shitty parts, but not for this.

I was surprised. I thought we hit peak super-hero already. In comparison to other super-hero movies, it seems like a close second to Winter Soldier or X-Men: First Class, for me. Probably somewhere around number 5 or 6 in terms of craft alone. Certainly better than the last few super-hero movies I've seen.

I was more surprised with the audience.

In American cinemas, they typically label certain movies as 'high energy'. It's often a code phrase for 'urban', and I'm sure you can extrapolate from there. On certain releases (Step Up, Fast and Furious, XXX, you get the idea) they increase the amount of staff and security accordingly.

However loud those movies might get, they were nowhere near the amount of 'audience participation' I experienced today. It was an eye-opener. There were people in costume.

I heard the whole movie theater did a Kamekameha during the last Dragon Ball movie, though, so it just might be the area I currently live in, but man was that audience pumped. Everyone from five year olds (I guess that's going to be a well-informed kid), the teenaged girls giggling away, and the retirees cussing up a storm behind me.

That is exactly the kind of audience I would expect for one of the genre's most obnoxious characters ever.

In his first appearances I was an 11-year old comic fan and even then I found him annoying. It was a great surprise to all of us in my circle of friends when he got his own series. But of course that was around the time when Marvel were doing spin-offs on almost everything. But for some reason this idiotic character have persisted.

The style of pubescent jokes and rap music of the trailer speaks volumes, but at least that is respectful of the source material.

That's the worst shit ever, and I've never understood it. People will laugh out loud at the most retarded crap you can imagine, and you just sit there cringing.

The same at lectures and debates, that type of audience can ruin even the most interesting content.

Haven't seen the movie but social phenomenon intrigues me. Last few big movies had very strong marketing campaign, to the point where people go to the cinema like they are being led by an invisible hand. Would like to learn how those wizards do it. Don't remember this happening in past 20 years, at least not on this scale. Did people make plans for The Matrix or Titanic premieres like they do these days for Star Wars and Marvel movies?

If a movie advertises itself too much to the point where it's just disgusting. I avoid watching the movie, mostly because when that happens the movie turns out to be a pile of shit, like this one.

I have a card that lets me see movies in the cinema as often as I like for £15 a month. I wanted to see Spotlight but it was on an hour later, Deadpool was on in 10 minutes. Went for Deadpool.

That's awesome. Wish we had something like that. Have Netflix for 12 euro per month but it turns out I'm not huge fan of steaming video on demand over the Internet. Picture quality isn't the best. Going to cinema as much I want easily beats that for only 60% higher price. Price of a single ticket in my local cinema is 2.2 pounds (after 19:00), 3D is 2.85 pounds. That means I can watch 5-7 movies for 15 GBP. In a poorly equipped cinema. Also it is worth taking in consideration that average salary is at least ten times higher in UK...

A lot of these superhero movies are written so badly, makes you wonder whether the creators ever graduated high school. No clue of even the most basic rules of creating drama/tension -- for example, almost all of these Marvel/DC/whatever superheroes are for all intents and purposes immune to bullets (like Deadpool, regenerating and cracking jokes with holes in him), yet there's scene after scene after scene of the superhero(es) taking out normal humans with guns. Once, to show how badass the dude(s) are? OK. But all the fucking time?

Y-a-w-n. What's the point? Not only are those scenes boring (hero has no way of getting hurt), but they make no sense in an internal logic kind of way. The grunts are apparently happy to keep running and dying to superhumans despite seeing they can't harm them. And the bosses of said grunts keep sending them. The worst/best example of this was in some Avengers movie, the newest I think, where they assault a base in the start...

In short, they come across as juvenile masturbatory material, written by someone going through a superhero phase that seven year olds usually go through.

It had some clever parts ill give it that, but yeah a lot of immature jokes. I do enjoy a bit of immature jokes, but as usual the delivery has to be good. Some of the delivery felt very forced in the movie, which ruins it.

It would take about 1.5 tickets to make the cost of the card a month so it's really worth it. It costs extra for 4DX and IMAX but 3D is free if you've had the card for a year. Also get 20% off food and drinks as well as the Starbucks they have in house. I think you get 15% off the restaurants in the area around it too so it's really good value. Without the card though it's fucking terrible.

Better than other superhero movies just by the virtue of not having massively childish morality undertone.
