Since the last patch the game has a tendency to "freeze" between 2 frames. I can still hear the sound but see only these 2 frames repated over and over again. Alt-tabbing or switchting to window mode fixes this, sometimes for good sometimes only for a couple of seconds. This does not always work, in 1 out of 5 times I get weird graphical artifacts, black bars, missing textures etc.
I tried:
- reinstalling all c++ redistributables
- setting the game to load textures on demand
- starting in native then switching to crpg
None of these helped at all, only
- installing the low res texture pack
provided some relief. Yesterday the game worked flawless for hours, but today its back to freezes and artifacts with such a frequency that it renders the game unplayable.
It is not an issue with my machine. After getting those artifacts for the first time I put my CPU & GPU through a burntest and tested my GPU for artifacts. Nothing. Also it worked perfect before the patch.

Are you playing through steam ?

I've got the same kind of bugs now aswell. They seem to appear randomly. Really annoying :/
-
Same Freezes here as the TopicOwner stated.
Its really annoying.
I am having this issue the most on siege servers with some maps.
-
bump, i'm having the same issue, while i'm at 60 stable fps i get randomly stuck between 2 frames. No artifacts for me...
oh and the temp on my vga is very low, benchs are running fine too...
-
I had the same exact same issue after increasing my graphics. Since then I have not had a single issue after I slightly lowered some settings (like viciously attacking my shadow settings, amazing what happens with 120 independent character shadows...).
I don't know why this fixed the issue, but either something else fixed it, or I got lucky. Been a solid 3 weeks now without a single incident.

i'm 99% sure it's not about my settings, lowered everything, tried every combination of them, this is total random and is now killing me
-
switch to dx7 and you wont get freezes, if you can survive shit graphic that is

THIS IS THE PROBLEM I'M HAVINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
How to fix it -_-' it's really annoying my gameplay!
-
BUMP.
on this topic because i'm still having the same darn problem and nothing seems to want to fix it.
cprg administratros should be looking into this.. -_-
-
unplayable atm.. lags and freezes all the time..
-
WHY IS THIS NOT BEING LOOKED INTO?!
-
Alt-tab out, then back in. That always solved the problem for me. It went away for me completely when I did a clean re-instal of my computer OS and c-RPG.
This is an issue with your computer, not cRPG unfortunately :( . Something is corrupted. Clean instals solved problems with everyone I have talked to who had this problem.

Indeed, that is an interesting option. I think I had 64 by default, and, after increasing it, it runs smoother, but it is GPU related. You should set it at 1/4 of your GPU's memory.
For example, I have a GTX480 with 1536Mb, so I tried 384 and my card made a lot of noise and scared me, so I lowered it to 192 and it's perfect now.
For those who don't know where this option is, go to C:\Users\XXX\Documents\Mount&Blade Warband\ and edit rgl_config.txt (where XXX is your user).
