cant i transfer gold between my alts. I mean I earnt the gold myself its not like someone gave it to me :( it would be really nice if i could transfer the gold i had from some of my alts that are pretty useless after the changes to my main or one of my other alts.

My guess is it's because it's so much easier to grind gold on some builds than it is on others. Allow transfers between alts and soon you'll have everyone playing archer.

maybe but then your still playing the game :P maybe you could make it so alts could trade but not the main? that way there would be no market involved?

I am still curious what the reason behind disallowing gold and heirloom transfer between alts and main is.
Apart from the fear everyone will play archer, which only illustrates some imbalances in upkeep, I do not see the reason!
I would however argue that:
- Alts cannot be used for strategus, let it not be a complete waste that you look for variety in game play, hence allow gold and heirloom grinding on alt, so you do not "waste" time on your alts.
- You will never see maps only with archers. It would tinkle to much in shieldplayers hands to just suit up and kill them.
- The time the player spent playing is the same if he players with his main player char instead of his alt player char.
- a lot of other far to obvious stuff (or I got no more reason ;))

Ranged classes are potentially the only ones that can completly dominate the battlefield to make anything else obsolete (that's what's happening in Native). Melee classes can't be much more than 4 attacking one enemy simultaneously and using the number advantage. Ranged classes can use the number advantage as much as they like. You can have 100 archers shoot on the same shielder, they won't have problems. Furthermore, they are immune to slower melee players. I would be curious how a 100 archers vs 100 shielders battle on a flap map ends up like. Intelligent archers can run away all the time, while mates shoot the shielder(s) in the back.

Ofc everybody would like to transfer gold, equip and xp between alt, before retirement ppl wanted this to create a new build with some starting gear, now that we have to choose a main char, ppl want this to transfer all their gold and equip to keep only one char and to do trading, i guess it's too easy...

well no i dont want xp transfer and i did suggest trading gold only between alts :P

one reason is that it would destroy some upcoming feature for strategus. Not going into detail yet, but people would leech on alts and transfer it to the main to get an advantage.

what about if you cant trade to your main but only between alts?

that might be doable, and was planned once iirc, but it has no priority right now.
