Hi guys!
I am kind of new here and i would like to know whats the best between a katana and a nodachi.
Because somebody told me katana was better someone else told me nodachi was better so i totally dont know.
I know that u can't do pierce with nodachi but i dont really matter this.

none of them is bether then the other ;)
Katani = fast(spam) low reach, medium damage
Nodachi = slow, good reach, good damage, no stab

You should buy the katana, it will teach you how to block good because of its lower reach, if you already know that go for the nondachi: higher reach, better damadge. Spam is useless on any half decent oponent

Ok thank you guys i already bought the katana 4 days ago so i think i will buy also the nodachi because i am used to blocking and chamber(less but a little though)

You cant outspam anybody in this game. Tried it with a MW Katana and over 150 2h WPF. Its totally impossible,

Swing twice before they can swing back after a block.
And it is very, very possible with proper footwork; weapon hardly matters for it though. Opponents using Unbalanced weapons are easier to spam, since they take longer to recover from blocks.
"oh, my opponent has an unbalanced weapon! Express ticket to spam town!" 1 second later, you get a kill when they think they can swing back at you. If you do it right. And No, I am not telling you how because I despise it.
If you play NA you can watch Castor, grey [formerly knows as guts], Cyranule or a few others do a guaranteed double-swing spam footwork technique. If you don't pay full attention to the subtle footwork while blocking, you'll lose the duel.
