Love that it's more realistic dialogue and more use of swears and more mature content and what not. Very interesting game so far. I'd recommend playing Dreamfall The Longest Journey and The Longest Journey before this. But it seems to be like the type of game where it's completely possible to play it without having played the predecessors.

U never played original Dreamfall or The Longest Journey? It's story driven with plenty of dialogue but alot of puzzle solving gameplay too. Some combat.

I wanna buy this for my gf, she loves these kinda games (as do i , occasionally), i'm not sure she played the original LJ though. Do you think it's alright to skip the first 2 games ? Is there like a "previously on LJ" introduction or something similar explaining the games' lore ?

They mention past events in the game here and there but obviously would be better to play first games. Atleast Dreamfall for sure. If you played Dreamfall or watched some lets play of it you should be understanding it all fine.
