Not a baww thread, no complaints at all. Even though it may seems so. I'm genuinely asking, I want to make an alt with polearm loooooong axe. I picked it up as 1 hander shielder the other day and realized how unbelivably easy it is. I got like 4 kills before I died. Ridiculous, anyway. It seems fun I want to try it, but I must manually blocky.
And the question is. Is there any point in manually blocking without macros? It seems that most people do it. I have a QPAD 5k which is a lovely mouse but it's not with macros. Just forward/backwards button which I already use for TS so.
When I watch 2handers and polearmers I see how light-fast they block, and feint. And I really can't do this without macros, when I do block. Move right, left etc. My screen moves too. To these people it doesn't. So. Should I?
-
Is using Macros becoming standard here or what?
-
Haven't used anything other than manual block, no macros. I'll take a decent ping over macros
-
Macros for blocking? What? :|
Dude, whoever ever uses macros does it for feinting. Not for anything else. You can't block with macros (well technically you could, probably, but that would be much less efficient than actual manual blocking) since you have to react to an incoming attack, not just do some algorithm.
Sooo...
Yes? There is a point in manual blocking since there's no way to block otherwise except using a shield.

It's about getting used to. You can move your screen just a bit to block, that's enough. Don't move it so hard that you lose the sight of your enemy. If you can't help it, reduce your mouse sensitivity.
All in all, try playing it for some time and you'll get used to it. No macros needed. (I don't actually even believe people actively use macros in cRPG)
PS: Ohhh yes, there is an option to block not with your mouse movements but with your movement keys. That way you don't move your screen to block. Instead you have to fuck up your footwork, making it directly dependable on your attacks. I don't recommend doing that if you want to become a good melee player.

Strange, I was told it's used for feinting and blocking in general. I guess I'm wrong? Or what? I dunno.

Yes, you are.

You were told wrong, afaik its only used for feinting and from my experience it's not even effective enough to worth trying.
-
Well I guess I'll try.
Does manual blocking come naturally or do I have to be very tryhard to get it effectively? I can't play this game 24/7 because of real obligations, so. Can it work or what? Also how long did it take for you guys?
-
I upload a copy of my consciousness into my mouse so it can automatically block for me.
-
I don't understand why you would macro blocks. Macroing feints on the other hand, so you have perfect timing, makes sense.

also helpful when scrolling porn, free up that second hand for testicular self stimulation FINALLY
-
wow you casuals still bother to block? just spin and swing, bonus points for doing a 900° like Tony Hawk.

It's very easy to become atleast average at blocking, just go on the duel server and duel people for 10-30 mins a day and in a week you will be fine.

I find that holding a sideblock is a great way to survive a clusterfuck group fight.
Holding left block (and using left/right turns to cover the right side as well) limits your opponent's attacks to either overhands or thrusts, and simplifies reactive blocking greatly (you only have to pay attention to 2 types of attack, instead of 4).
It's a band-aid, but it's an effective one.

please please PLEASE DONT MACRO IN THIS GAME. hate all you other bundle of stickss that macro, hide bushes, and aim bot
-
If you're blocking with a long axe you're doing it wrong.
-
Lol macro blocking, what? how does that even work?
Its really rare to even see a feint macro these days because interupting rythm with nudge/spam/hold/kick is enough
-
the only thing macros are used in cRPG is as an excuse for losing
-
you literally only have to move your mouse a cm if that to change block :D no need to shake the screen, just practice it for a couple of mins

not cm, mm. :D

Macros are for incompetent little pricks who think it's cool to be the best feint spammer around.
I'd rather say lern2play.
-
macro feints are not needed, ever. feint spam while looking at the ground is not needed, ever.
patience is needed, and you need a lot of it.

You need to tryhard. I guess it took me about three months to be comfortable with manual blocking at all. Most guys that play this game now have been playing it for years, so don't expect to get as good any time soon.
Once you get the hang of it the fighting is more enjoyable than it is with a shield, so keep trying at least for a while.

This is all interesting info. Also thank you all for downvoting my post. As if you know, I came up with this bullshit. When in reality I was explained just a few days ago on the server by a few people what macroing does. And that's the way i understood it.
I'll make some alt with a long axe, preferrably stay out of blocking range anyway. Thank's for the help and the tips.

OK which fucking pricks are using macros?

You only have to make a tiny move with the mouse to change direction on your attack/block, the screen doesnt have to "move".
The difference between you and people who can actually play 2h/pole is hours and hours of playing.
So have patience, and get to work. Its not that hard once you "get it".

If you feel like your screen turns too much, try lowering sensitivity and turn acceleration on.

Please don't think that people who are better than you are all cheaters

You're welcome. I didn't like your attitude, showed in OP. This: I can not block and feint as fast as others, so it seems they all use macros.

I think you have issues with judgement. I dont think people who are better than me cheat, what is your problem exactly?
I'm just saying that people TOLD ME they use feint macros. I discussed it yesterday, and I also read threads. This does not mean I have bad attitude. Christ man. You downvoted me for misunderstanding something that the community told me? Cool .. Whatever. I'm going to lock the thread.
