A Carnival Films and BBC America co-production for BBC Two, The Last Kingdom is an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s best-selling series of books by BAFTA nominated and RTS award-winning writer Stephen Butchard.



I SO EXCITE! Best book series ever with epic battles. Cant wait to see how it works out on tv. hopefully like vikings but better

First thought is that its going to be a clone of another popular made for TV series.  Never read the books, hopefully its not campy like other recent viking era shows.

well the books have been out for a long time now so i doubt it will be a clone. It may be done Sharpe style as its the BBC and Cornwell again.

The books for one are far from campy. They are filled with lots of battle, death and game of thrones style plots

Wanted to avoid this.  I'll go in with an open mind but I'm hoping they take a risk and do something different.

Well bbc don't have the cash to spend on Game of thrones style :P my bet would it will be like the Sharpe tv series
