Miklagard Varjagi (Varangian Guard)

Greetings, we are the Miklagard Varjagi. Also known as the Varangian Guard. The Varangian Guard was an elite unit of the Byzantine Army, from around the 9th century to as late as the 14th century.

The Varangian Guard mainly consisted of foreign warriors, mercenaries for the Byzantine Emperor. They were even his personal guardians. The most common and present people of the Varangian guards were of Nordic and Slavic origin. The Vikings and Rus' people but also native Greeks made up the manpower of this extremely elite force which was worldwide known for good fighting and loyalty. The Rus' provided the earliest members of the Varangian guard. Rus' were in Byzantine service from as early as 874 AD. The guard was first formally constituted under Emperor Basil II in 988, following the Christianization of Kievan Rus' by Vladimir I of Kiev.

What our clan aims for.

Our clan aims for a Varangian theme in the game. Currently there are many other clans, groups with themes. Such as the Templars, Druzhina, Norse. What we want, is a theme for us. Varangians, of course.

We don't expect many members, so we're aiming for a tight knit clan of a smaller amount of active players in this game. Of course, you don't have to play 24/7 nor should you perhaps. But we want you to be active, play with us, play with your members, we want you to be engaing. Teamwork and good friendship with eachother is really important. Communication aswell and behaviour.

Another thing is that we aim for atleast a standard and stable authenticity. That is to say, we strictly follow our theme. We have a list of Armoury and Weapons that our members are allowed to use, and anything outside of this list is not allowed. We don't want people in our clan to run around in Japanese armor swinging around a Katana and calling themselves a Varangian. That's not what the Varangian Guard was about, therefore that's not what we are about.

Applications are open, and you may apply to the clan if you have read the rules and accept them

Players who break the theme rules of the clan will get a warning about it. If the player refuses to change his loadout to the list of items ordered by the theme of the clan. The person will be kicked from the Clan. If this repeats again. It will result in a ban from the clan completely.

Those who are not leaders or in the position to kick, ban within the clan, that is to say. Normal members. Ordinary and Normal members of the clan may also say to their fellow members not to use disallowed armory if someone is breaking the rule. If said person is refusing, and on purpose breaking the rule. A screenshot may be sent to any of the Administrators/Leaders as proof of this and we'll do something about it.

Thanks, that's the plan. Took me like a day to make this thread, all the pictures, info, spoilers and the required armor.

Alriiight. We finished our banner art. Took some time to make, but we are happy with it. Maybe some small changes to size but that's it.

Update/Information

The new weapons and armors will be added accordingly to the armory list once the screenshots are up on the site and once we see them in game and decide that they are historically correct
