"The subtitled comment:
فارسی: جایگاه‌های مختلف ماه در کتاب التفهیم اثر ابوریحان بیرونی. متن زیر تصویر:

جِرَا جرا این فزودن و کاستن نور قمر را است و ستارکان دیکر را نیست
میان مردمان نکرستن و ناستذنْ این مَعْنیها را خلافَسْت
در روشناای ستارکان که ایشانرا روشناای از خویستن است

Translation:

Why – why the increase and decrease of the light of the moon is settled while other stars don’t behave so,
observing these and not understanding the spirit of these is a misdeed
that the light of the stars is of their own"




This an observation of gravitational lensing. What do you think?
