Title: New Total War announced!
Post by: Bittersteel on September 25, 2014, 05:34:16 pm
Looks like it will cover Atilla and the huns. Should have been an dlc in my opinion. I really want a Medieval 3

Haha, It's coming out in February. Either they have spent time since Rome 2 release working on it (Dickmove) or they haven't learned and are gonna think they can get the game done and smooth in such a short time. (Dickmove)

Not long after rome 2 was released, they said the staff has "switched" to something else. Well, this must be it.

If its built on the same disappointing crap Rome 2 was, I'll pass.  The AI is still retarded.  Gameplay was oversimplified (Limited number of building slots?  What the fuck).  Even the music was awful compared to Rome 1.

Not sure if its solely CA pushing this crap, or if their parent company Sega is doing most of the derping.

Agree with this.

Rome 1 was far more fun for me than rome 2. Some of that might be chalked up to nostalgia and rose colored glasses and all.. but dammit I had more fun with it. I was still playing rome 1 earlier this year. I have played rome 2 for like 8 hours or so and.. can't be assed to play it again.

I might try with some mods but fuck.. CA really dropped the ball with rome 2.

There's Rome II Total Realism, and AAW, the second of these claims to follow in the footsteps of Roma Surrectum II (one of the best Rome mods), give those a shot

Do you play RTW1 on Win 7 64?  If so how did you get it to install and work?

I did.. didn't really have any issues. Just installed like normal and it worked just fine. Sorry. Not much help I know.

Try the link above if you want to try the fix suggested there.

It's basically gonna be what Napoleon Total War was to Empire Total War. No huge differences.

Also, watch the Turkish gamers fight and pretend Atilla was Turkish before Turks were even Turks (lul) and spew their nationalism

Have you tried Call of Warhammer for MTWII? Played Reikland and Khorne campaigns recently, was quite impressed.

We would be fortunate to have another TW game of NTW quality.

I was just so used to playing 'real' 40k battles with a points limit, army list, and battlefield... Felt wrong with the whole resource collecting, population caps etc.

Mechanics wise maybe. But campaign and overall feeling? Lol, Rome 1, MTW 2 and ETW were way better. All depends on what your cup of tea is.

NTW campaign is in my opinion the best campaign since RTW:BI and MTWI:VI, and not because I like some setting more than another, but because CA games are generally great when they have time for polish, and the improved focus usually found in their expansions.

NTW also had the best balance by far.
