Title: Your 3 Favorite Consecutive Songs On Any Album?
Post by: Lord_Bernie_of_Voodoo on September 24, 2014, 07:07:02 am
Seeing that a lot of cRPG'ers have good music taste, I thought this would be an interesting question to ask. There's a lot of candidates for me, but one stands out as my favorite - I wouldn't even say this album is in my personal top 10, either.

Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights (Tracks 2-4) (2002)

This was extremely difficult, but these three songs go very well together.

I know a lot of people find this generic, and the people that think that should fuck off.

Alice in Chains - Jar of Flies (Tracks 1 - 3) (1994)

Nutshell is a very good song, but it is definitely overplayed.  I was tempted to do I Stay Away, No Excuses and Whale & Wasp, but ultimately those three seemed like the better choices.

Ensiferum - Unsung Heroes

05 _Celestial Bond: 0:19:08 - 0:23:25
06 _Retribution Shall Be Mine: 0:23:26 - 0:27:49
07 _Star Queen (Celestial Bond part II): 0:27:50 - 0:33:44

Celestial bond 1 is the slowest, and beautiful, Ensiferum love song with pure female voice. Part 2 is male voice, no growl, perspective. And between them is a typicaly Ensiferumish battle metal screamo. Quite the diverse experience

Probably not my favourite ever or anything, but hip-hop probably doesn't get much love on this forum, so here to represent. André 3000 is a beast.

Well I think David Grey's White Ladder is just one of the best albums ever made. This is very hard since there are so many goods songs on here. So the 3 best consecutive songs will be:

Nightblindess
Silver Lining
White Ladder

If you ain't heard this album, trust me you're missing out :)

I've been avoiding this post for awhile because it's too goddamn hard for me to decide.
There's a number of good albums with good songs out there, but I feel the request was more about album construction than your favorite songs which just happen to play one after the other.
Fuuuuuuuuck.

Alright, it's been a few hours of contemplation.
This is a fantastic album, but I wouldn't put it in my top 10 or even 20.
Rarely ever listen to it, but the flow of this album is phenomenal.

Couldn't find an album version on YouTube, so here's live. Starts at 0:34.
Nothing for this one either. Highly recommend checking up this album on Spotify or something, though.

For the first time while reading this forum I see the bright light of a question that mobilizes my grasp of algorithmic complexity. Sadly I cannot answer for I do not consume music in ways compatible with such considerations.

first song:  0:00
second song: 5:59
third song: it was going to be 19:30 but the video is screwy.

Decided to bump this thread with a new set of three. Hopefully y'all are cultured enough to not just take these tunes as elevator music.

Joao Gilberto - Getz/Gilberto (Tracks 1-3) (1963)
