Nop.
Steaming pile of shit day 1 spotted, 1 year of patches needed, tons of useless overpriced DLC and over hype pre-release.

The graphics looks good, the tension can be felt, might be a reasonably good solo player experience, but I advise you all to be very cautious about buying.

I'll probably wait till its patched to completion, and the occulus rift is out.

How would you coop this lol? If 1 was Human and 1 Alien maybe but still. That sounds weird.

Seems like a pure horror game though which is nice i guess.

They have a multiplayer planned so I think a tweaked difficulty cooperative campaign is feasible. It needs the same kind of thinking around balance etc than other MP gamemodes.

But I agree that having a friend with you greatly reduce the fear effect... A coop would be very accessory in this kind of game imo, I would even go as far as detrimental.

Looks a bit easy to avoid the alien menace, seems like they dont have the OP sense of smell they have in the stories, which would make it damn impossible to not be busted if you are a few meters away from one, even if you made no sounds.

Still looks interestingly tense and tactical.

Maybe it doesnt really "smell" you but if it has seen you/ heard you once it`ll be defending the surrounding area...
Looks quite funny tho!

Yes, the AI of the beast seems quite well done. I'm sure after a time we will get the patterns but at first glance, looks like it will be hard to manipulate.

Exactly.
I hope my PC will be able to run it smoothly on medium settings

Have finished the game now and would like to share my steam review with you guys, you might like the game.
NO SPOILERS BTW!

So after all the pre-reviews like "Sega and Creative Assembly have done this game, don`t buy it after the desaster of Colonial Marines and Total War Rome 2, they will do ♥♥♥♥ again" I was a bit afraid of buying it. Then I decided to pre-purchase this game around 1 week before release and I really have to say it was all worth it.

The graphics of this game are simply awesome, I thought "Can my PC even run this game on low settings due to the fact that my graphic card is just 1 above the minimum and ages beneath the recommended one, but my thoughts were definitely wrong. The game is optimized very well so that I was always able to run it on medium/high settings with shaders etc. turned on medium up to high without having a single lag. So being a little bit over the minimum should make you being able to run it pretty good.

Another important point is the story, of course.
So to be quite honest, I haven't watched the "Alien" movies but I was always kind of interested in space stuff, was a bit curious.
The game has had a lot of moments where I thought "Wow" because the story has a good background and is very very interesting even for people that have not seen the movies.

The gameplay has always been very very exciting and dramatic, the incredibly awesome sound and light effects just improved that. I have played the game with a controller and I have never had a single problem with shooting/running away precisely so don`t be afraid of using one.
So the game has a lot of very shocking and exciting moments and I definitely don`t regret that I have bought the game and I have enjoyed every second I played even if I didn't make some missions at the first or even after the 5th try but I have always been patient and thought "Give it another try, other people are able to do it so I can do it as well".

So all in all it is an awesome game that has alot of exciting and wow- moments with an awesome atmosphere and incredibly good light and sound effects and I can only RECOMMEND this game to anyone who's a bit into space stuff and/or has or hasn't watched the movies so almost everyone.
Big YES from my side.

Heard the game was meh at best, really slow early levels, and unless you are an alien fan you might not enjoy some levels which are just empty scenery levels. Also bad savepoints can make you redo a lot of content.

Dis reviewer i like http://misterpickypants.com/?p=1596 (http://misterpickypants.com/?p=1596)

This is definitely an issue. The save points are always in the worst spots

But other than that, I'm really enjoying it, and I haven't seen any of the Alien movies.

If you like atmospheric first person horror games such as the Penumbra series, you should definitely check out this one.

This shit is too stressful for me. Two hours in and I had to call it. Might get back into it, but I'm not even at the real brunt of the game yet and I'm shitting myself constantly. To be fair, I am a pussy.

Here's a pretty funny reaction video with people playing this on Oculus Rift. Can't even imagine.
