Title: Need a decent 0-slot axe

We've got a decent 0-slot mace, and really nice (too nice?  I don't know) 0-slot swords.

The only 0-slot axe is a shitty peasant hand axe.  I say we make one of the lower-end axes 0 slot and perhaps tweak the stats to balance with the knobbed mace.

One Handed Axe and One Handed War Axe are both nice budget weapons. I think if one of them would go 0 slots and higher upkeep and the other stayed as it is, we would have additional diversity among the low-tier axes. But I think this would require a small upkeep decrease on the Hand Axe in turn.

Talking about budget weapons, don't you guys think the Yanmaodao is a bit overpriced?

Based off of what? It's 46g more expensive than the nomad saber, and deals 1 more cut while being 1cm shorter. If you're comparing it to the nordic short sword, than yeah, those two are over priced but ashwell. I have some bias since I like the paramerion, but the spathion outshines it [and I'd like the remove it's stab...or at least have a way of disabling it].

I'd like a very short, very powerful axe that could destroy a shield in very few hits, perhaps being unable to block with as well :|

Well the nomad sabre is as expensive as it is because it is 0 slots. It used to be 1 slot pre patch and cost 129 gold upkeep, now the upkeep is more than double as high after the slot reduction. But to me, 1c more doesn't make the Yanmaodao so much better that 1 slot more is an equivalent sacrifice. Since a whole slot matters more than 1c, it should be cheaper than Nomad Sabre.

1h axes in general just kind of suck compared to military cleaver unless you're trying to kill some 10-13 shield stack troll.

Other than that, swashbuckler attack nudge/swashbuckler neutral nudge/attempting to get behind for a pincer attack is better for assists, plus dead enemy shields are a resource.

It's a shame, I kind of like the 1h war axe's model.

Why do people need good 0 slot weapons? If you want to play melee get rid of your ranged stuff

we don't need 0 slot axes. 0 slot swords are OP IMO, and hand axe is not shit, it's really fast and dmg is ok for 0 slot weapon. :) (I got one before 0 slot swords were implemented)

I don't see why the One Handed Axe couldn't be 0 slots, it's lighter and shorter than the Falchion, and wouldn't be ludicrously over powered.

Guess it wouldn't hurt to see what the others think about the One Handed Axe. I think people are underestimating the strategical value of a good 0 slot axe, though.
