Title: Dead Rising 3 for PC
Post by: Molly on September 05, 2014, 01:00:37 pm
I loved the Dead Rising 2 on PC for it's silliness and humour. Not so sure about Dead Rising 3...

Don't worry Molly, censored in Germany anyway

So?
You can buy a key and activate it that way. You can't buy it on the German store but you can still get a key and activate/play it.

If you wanna buy it, please do it here: http://www.mmoga.de/Steam-Games/Dead-Rising-3.html

Much cheaper. I dunno if I will get it yet, I love zombie games, but only the serious ones. I hope there will be mods that make the game more hardcore, like dying from one bite or something like that.

Could be a great zombie apocalypse video game. Unlike other AAA zombie games, this one has zombies in abundance and they don't pop out of thin air (Left for Dead, looking at you). Also has good animations (DayZ is a joke in that department and can't be called indie game anymore). Shame that backstory is a typical xbot retarded garbage (finest example is Sunset Overdrive). I Am a Hero video game with this tech will be awesome.

Well, seems that it still has some of the silly DR gameplay options judging by the video.

And DR was never "really" about survival but about killing thousands of zombies, mostly in ridiculous fashion. If people are looking for a hardcore zombie survival thing then stay away from this - that has never been the point of DR - looking at you, Renay! :P

I know, but is has such good potential to be a serious zombie game. I don't mind killing zombies with all kinds of junk, but I don't like that you are basically invulnerable. You can take too many hits and that's something mods should be able to change.

Bosses are usually pretty hard though. But if DR would become a generic survival zombie game, then it would probably become shit.

Looks like the game still has the humour and variety in weaponry still, i remember the launch trailer not showing any of that and it looked like a serious zombie shooter game, fuck guns, anyone who uses guns in DR games should be smashed to death by a gumball dispenser.

I heard the game is extremely unoptimized and coop is broken.

Haven't had the chance to play coop. I really hope it`s not cuz that's the main reason why I got it.
Loved to fool around in DR2 with buddies.

It runs with all settings maxed on my system pretty well, so I can't really complain.
But my guess, considering a lot of people have issues with CTD, that there is some kind of memory leak...
Luckily I can play it without problems, though I haven't played much yet.

Yeah still has plenty of silly stuff in it:

I haven't had any crashes, but the game won't let me use my native aspect ratio so I had to change it manually from the files.
Now my UI is stretched little over the left and right borders though.

You're running on a 16:10 ratio?
My resolution is "supposed" to be 1680x1050.

Looked at different suggestions on how to get it running on this resolution but... they all seem to involve quite a lot of effort :P

Yeah, if I don't change it from the files I get black borders on the top and bottom of the screen, which is really annoying.

I hated the time restriction in DR2. Loved everything else. Can anyone confirm whether this one has the daily time restriction as well?

i was told yes, as it is the trademark of the series.  Apparently you have 7 days.

Well, that takes away my excitement fot this game then. You build an open world game with a lot of things to do and restrict the player to do shit on a timetable. Bullshit! As much as I enjoyed DR2 a lot, that really bugged me a lot.

There are already several trainer which stop the time limit. Besides, what I've read yet is that the time limit is really big and allows tons of exploring. So don't let that get in your way.

Bigger issue seems to be that a lot of people have mucho performance troubles. Maybe keep an eye on the Steam forum and check for updates here. (http://steamdb.info/sub/34736/history/)

I have never used these trainer thingies, but this one can seriously turn the tables. Good thing that you pointed that out for me. Now I'm excited again.

Are these "trainers" able to be used in Co-op?

Dunno... Maybe when it's run on the host. On the other hand, check if coop is VAC secured. Better save than sorry :?

Edit: I read that running the exe as admin and setting cpu priority up to high let's the game run way smoother - tried it just now and can confirm. Way more stable fps.

Pirated?

Also looks fun and bought Dead Rising 1 like 10 times after losing copies of disc for my Xbox and selling Xbox and buying Xbox and PS3 again etc...Loved it. And Dead Rising 2 was cool as well. Never tried Dead Rising 3. But i think i'll wait untill/if they fix it or proper mods to fix bugs and problems gets released.

Nope. Bought ofc. Activation was tricky since my government thinks it's protecting the youth but other than that a legit copy.

Oww, and has vehicle combos which are awesome and hilarious :D Love that addition a lot.

Edit: Came up with solutions to the time limit things, only 1 solution I can confirm, haven't tested the 2nd one properly yet.

Some Swedish dude who does trainer for free offers a "Pause" button. It turns the time to Night tho. (http://thatlingon.blogspot.ro/2014/09/dead-rising-3-trainer-update-2-released.html)
