Title: Bodkin vs tatar
Post by: Vicissitude on August 25, 2014, 06:58:38 am
Has anyone done any testing on bodkin vs tatar arrows? Im wondering where the point is in armor that bodkin starts beating tatar arrows in dmg.

low damage bows = tatar always
high damage bows = bodkin always

Middle damage probably has bodkin winning above 40 armor.

In my experience tartar arrows work better vs Light enemy's (Other archers, ninjas, Agi whores) and bodkins vs normal / heavy armored targets. As most players in C-rpg play with normal/heavy armor i always use bodkins.

Ps: Try playing around with this: http://alpha-lider19.ru/MB/?go=archercalc set your PD, WPF and STR and see how much damage you do with what bow/arrow.

If you re going to get cut damage arrows avoid Tatars and get Barbed , because I assume you will lack money since you re a beginner, Barbed arrows will cost much less and will have more ammo only for a small amount of sacrificed damage.

None! Throw your bow at your enemy, and charge in. You'll get a gigantic e-peen after that one and all the praise from archery haters.

It also comes down to playstyle.

I use a nomad bow (bottom of the ladder, but fastest bow), with two stacks of tatar and a sidearm. I can often top the leaderboards if I'm not in a team-wounding frenzy, but I don't get many kills. I prioritize caval-ree and enemy ranged first and foremost. Horses net me the most points, ranged net me most of my kills. The rest of the time I am firing into team battles, looking at breaking enemy blocks so that my allies can get their kills. I also really enjoy standing out in a field against enemy caval-ree getting down and dirty, switching back and forth between bow and sword. Can keep their caval-ree busy for a good while while my team can kill off more of the other teams infantry without worry about as many caval-ree.

If you're playing a style similar to my own, bodkins just don't really fit into it. On a side-note, a lot of people play long bows and bodkins to try to just get kills (these are the archers that people actually hate), and you'll find bodkins all over the ground. You can pick these up and pick up some late match kills against those high armor guys that are still left. (I'm still not certain on the functionality of picking up multiple types of arrows.)
