Title: Nikola_The_Orthodox's Siege Map

Okay. So i made this map in 2 days with like 10 hours of work :) , its just fun.
I have had some experiences with mapping before (Mostly PW maps)

Description: Well first of all i have no idea how to name the map, but that does not matter for now. So the map is obviously a siege map, it has multiple ways of getting to the flag quickest way to get in is trough the main gate , and than trough breakable gate.
 Other way to get in is going to the side ladder on the left side and than going to the left , on the wall around the 2nd layer of wall, it takes some time but no breaking of any kind.

 And you can go on the right to the side door which brings you to the other side door( i called it Sidedoor LVL 2) or you can go to the second breakable gate or use a small ladder on the right side of the 2nd gate.

The 2nd gate is opened only from the flag side by both , attackers and defenders, which makes the small ladder on right side of the gate usable to open it with no need of breaking ,but of course you can close it again.

And there are some miner things around like places to make mini ambushes for attackers, and few places for archers to climb.

Map is pretty detailed in my opinion even the environment around the castle , actually making map so detailed took most of my editing time , so if nothing i hope you enjoy the view :D.

I am sorry if this was to long , and i hope that i didn't miss something important, if so i would aprishiate some feedback , especially for spawns , glitches , getting stuck somewhere , unbalance ( too easy to attack or defend).Of course if you have any suggestions or critics PLEASE i need them :).


So, this is the verions 1.0 of this map , whatever the name i choose later on( will edit it here later)

Rivercastles are always fun.

Question:
The tower on the first screenshot the right one of those 3 towers...
Is he fully walkable coz it seems like he is out of the map...

Tnx for your reply , the tower ur talking about is not supposed to be walkable its there just to make castle look full, it haves barricades that do not allow you to even come to it , the middle tower on the right is the last walkable inculing the left one that is the first u come to. Between left and middle one u can go down and to the flag , no need or use whatsoever for the right one. Even if it were usable it would be useless cuz it would take more time to go to flag , i mean some going around for some cover , but it would be too much protection from archers i think, and im pretty sure its out of the map :D

Yeah it would be amazing if this map i made get a good feedback , and if so ill more likely make more :D , first of all its fun and i really don't like some maps , so if i could make good ones that would be amazing for me.
Who knows when they are going to upload it on server , maybe never or for quite some time. All depends from c-RPG team i guess. Hopefully they give me some instructions what to do :)

I like the fact that youre making new scenes, but in my opinion this castle has no place in the rotation, we should be trying to remove maps, not add more big castles, no offence.

Well its here , im not gonna remove it so hopefuly one day it will be considerd to be in rotation, and i could make some smaller maps , but big or small if its balanced its all the same !

Would u try it: u wóuld see it. Not everyone has a good filled cRPG server around :D

Well I know cRPG Map-Team is a bit uninterested at the moment.. U should try to finish it as far as u can and when ur realy finished, just annoy ze admins on irc until they checked it (worked for me) :wink:

Yes, but NPC AI doesnt work the same as humans.

Any map submited is added to the scenes folder of the mod unless the map is obvsly unplayable, but i dont think its such a good idea adding more maps like this. The map wont be tested before it gets to the rotation, and as you may know, cprg team isint very active with updating maps, so i dont think the testing fase its worth the wait while playing "another unbalanced map".

Usualy a map takes at least 3 or 4 updates to get the ballance right, that is if the map is even possible to ballance in the first place.

:D How do you mean if its possible to balance , i think its alyways posible , there was a siege map with just ground with no castle , and it was kinda balanced , meaning it all depends from spawn distances.

U can measure the time it takes to walk to the flag and compare it to other maps :)

For example:
Shortest way to flag : 26s (gate must be open)
Backdoor to flag : 76s (including the door)
To open the gate: 26s
Sidewayto flag: 38s
(i dont know if those times are good)

The hardest thing to balance are the spawnpoints I think.

Left attack over ladder seems fine as a backdoor, the gate is okay too (Although i think people will just open the gate, destroy the next one and then rush flag), but the right one is kinda useless, because it's a longer way, you have to destroy the door and then you have to walk all the way to the other side of the gate to get open it. That is my only concern though, looks good otherwise.

OH, one thing though: Remove the visible purple part of the mountain. I don't care if you have to make a purple background for your signature, but don't let that ugly purple mountain be seen by the players (Unless they are checking the map in spec, but whatevs).
Gotta give me a name, too, otherwise i will name it myself and i don't think you want that to happen =D

Sry i was like not on c-RPG for like a month i had to take a break ..
So ill try to balance out the door u said on the right.
And the ping thingy :D
Well u cant see it unless u go spec all the way into the mountain , i dont know , for a person that is just playin , not flyin around like i ussualy do , no way he gonna notice it

Oh yea, and the name , well the map isnt done yet so, ill do that last :D

Welllll, i don't feel like finishing it anyway because nobody is playing siege anymore or at least very rarely someone does.
SO if  u feel like  it , anyone really, you can take the map in your hands and do whatever you want with it. Use it for native if you wish. Name it as you wish , and whatever you want.
Only map i may go for is battle..
