Title: Why doesn't strat have some kind of end game reward?
Post by: ETOR_Holokron on August 07, 2014, 10:36:18 pm
Why doesn't strat have some kind of end game reward, for being the winning faction?
Like have give 10 looms points to the winning team, Maybe custom weapons or armor, a map made to honor the winning faction. Maybe winning faction added so kind of hall of frame.
Or you have to pay taxes to the winning team for as long as strat is down before a new starts again.

P.S. Sorry for double posting  not sure where this goes.

Good idea, though it should be based on renown.  Gives the smaller guys a chance.

thx, just was thinking of some kinda of incentive to keep people from going afk in strat which tends to happen alot towards the end of strat.

Sad but true.  Mind you, it is a very slow game.  I just about quit when I realized how much trading it takes to build a decent army which can get destroyed in minutes.  But incentives seem to work nicely in this game.

If there were rewards based on renown, you'd see more fighting throughout the game and less mega-factions.  I understand you get more renown per player if you're in a small faction.   Which makes sense, as big factions have 75% of their guys trading to supply the 25% that fight.  If everyone suddenly became renown whores, you'd see a lot of smaller battles with kickass gear.  Which is fine by me, as an hour or more is way too long for a strat battle.  I'd rather have 5 half hour strat battles in a row than one hour and a half one.

I totally agree with you, it would help the small clans gain reknown big time and those big battles that last 2 hrs are always fun.

Being hated by the entire community at the end of strat is the reward isn't it? Or so I have been led to believe by the last few strats.

Just look at Bryggan, his moral went way up just at the sight of possible rewards, making want to kick more ass in strat.

This thread is irrelevant because Fallen never makes it to the end.

cRPG doesnt have any end game reward because it would be pointless. I mean how would you pick the winner? Would it be the faction with the most castles or the faction with the most monies or troops. To me winning in this game is a mix of what you make of it and the obvious.

"Winning" faction has a massive online boner, they should be happy with that already. That and their titles "owner of this, that, this and that, etc etc"

The winner would be the person with the most renown.  A member of a small faction gets more renown per battle than a big faction, though a big faction can build bigger armies.  But the reward should be for having battles; as for factions holding fiefs, the engorged e-peen should be enough.
