Title: Byzantium is dead

Nord_Bagge and Byzantium_Chase had a high-stakes duel last night over an ongoing argument they were having; first to 7 (AKA best of 13) on EU_3, the loser had to disband his clan,

the results were

Nord_Bagge - 7
Byzantium_Chase - 5

Therefore, Byzantium has disbanded (many players are applying for Nords now, but i understand many others are looking for other clans to join)

not sure how many of you this will affect, but i just wanted to let the community know what's going on ;)

2 of most active clans in EU_1 have a piss off duel match and as a result other one will be wiped out... Good job if this really is true (which I sincerely doubt).

How can such a clan fall apart by a decision of just one guy? Seriously? Was Byz just a fellowship of bannerstacking? I haven't had the impression. Sad though.

Feel free to join a clan, who is not just defined by crpg but by the people in the clan.

If this were true I doubt most would be happy to just disband over a stupid spat/duel. Even if Byz was disbanded the members could form a new Byz clan.

I see Nords changed name to Varangian Guards and old byz members are in there. Looks like a merger yup. If they did duel it would have been for which clan merges with which :D

So yep for those that haven't realised, this thread was a joke but the merger is real. We decided to merge earlier this week as we had similar interest and both a lack of activity, so it made sense. It also seems to be the hip craze at the moment with Templars and SB merging and fallen and HRE merging.

Honestly I think the bannerbalance was a very shit idea to begin with. Sure I quess it can stick 3 people with the same banner in the same team. I got no probs with that. But any more and its gonna be elitism all the way from there. Not really supporting this merge cause that would mean something like getting stuck with the team that has the skills of a DRG clan against some nolife prosquads for multiple maps in a row. Making me lose money and basically spending my time(spending it even more that is) for something thats not really even my own damn fault.

That's exactly why a thing like banner balance is needed. If I can't play most of the time with people I like and hang out with on TS but instead I'm forced to play with a bunch of random brainfarts then I don't wanna play at all. The only counter to this "elitism", as you like to call it, is either to get used to "playing for fun" (although I agree there's no fun in getting rekt all the time, if you waste your time on a shitty thing like online gaming you'd like to win now and then) or trying to form a counter-block or at least a group of people who can make a stand when they gather up on EU1 from time to time.

Anyways the merge isnt for farming x5, its because we like teamplay and byz activity has died down a lot recently. We know a lot of nords and usually play other games with some of them so merging makes a lot of stuff easier. Also finding a new theme is pretty interesting.

Was awesome, thanks for a fun event everyone ! I was especially surprised how well and quickly the NA server adapted to our cavalry zerg and made pike formations, counter-cav charges and deployed spikes to defend their infantry in the field (FBTR map). Was really impressive  and fun guys, good job! =)

Was an awesome sight! I particularly liked when you guys charged from spawn and I was on the other team but managed to sneak into the huge mass of cav :D only the guy behind me noticed who kept trying to poke my horse :D

I dont hit any table man. Indeed i dont give a flying damn about what happens in games. Let me explain you how it goes. Putting 2 big clans (probably the biggest ones at this point of the game) who always been "rivals" just to banner stack  its lame. Yes it is, no matter how you try to look at it. On the other hand, yes ive been invited to join most clans and my answer always been the same "i dont marry with anyone in a game, sorry". Nords, Deserters, Gk, Old kinggrin clan, new kinggring clan, Mercs, warpigs, Byz, barabe and some more i sadly cant remember the name anymore  have offered me a spot in their clan, which i really apreciate but its not how i play games anymore. So what, Im butthurt for stating a fact and coz i dont like being a clan sheep?. Wow, you guys amaze me :). Btw, Im sure many "vanguards" think the same, since ive seen some of them moaning about the "new situation" of their clan. Ive seen this ingame so that tells you all. lets see for how long "vanguard" will last as you know it. Wouldnt be surprised if a big part of them just leave and create something else new.

Nords hasn't been "big" in a long time. Loads of clans with more activity than we had.

I like the merge for more activity, a more lively teamspeak with lots of more people on it to play any kind of game together. Which is very nice for those of us who barely play this mod. It's not all just about cRPG  :wink:

Nords big? I found myself playing only with Illuyanka the last year, and most of the time I had to go to Byzantium teamspeak to some actual voice action.

That's how big Nordmen were last year. They were all tired of the mod, and playing mostly other games (blame dota 2 big).

Byzantium were jesusnipplesBIG in the early stages, lately not so much.



The merge actually brought all the dormant players back to activity.

And fun moments arise, events, and ganks on GTX (http://imgur.com/a/PCnbN).  :lol:

Balance the game better and we won't need to merge clans together. Play to the game's strength - point and clickers should be playing some FPS not what could potentially be the best melee orientated game there is. Make ranged not rock vs scissors, or take away ranged scissors

Oh you bastards, that was just abusive! And that was not the only incident, you guys enjoyed ganking me all day on eu_1 :/. I did get Teeth in that situation though, so that saved whatever tiny bit of pride i had left after today :P.

Sorry but this just doesn't have anything to do with the merge at all, Nords were practically dead as a clan itself in cRPG. We were just a bunch of pals playing games.
