...i will try to start being a nice asian now...
I have tried my best to give all new players a warm welcome. I have spotted quite a few on eu_3 and i've tried to give them all a good start. I trained them a tiny bit so that they understood the basics, so that they don't get too frustrated with dieing 24/7, but they actually know what to do to stop it.
Also just guided them to the forum guides and such things, since this is indeed not an easy game to start up in. I do like the idea of them starting up at a higher level, since starting at level 1 against veteran players with 30+ levels is quite rough.
Also answering their questions on servers is a great help aswell, instead of trolling them as i see some people do, which is why i always personally answer as many questions as i can see.
Fin, I never saw a new player get called newmy old friend or something. I also think cRPG as absolutely not ban happy (atleast for polls). If you have played crossfire you know what I mean:D
Usually it's even almost a competition between experienced players to type answers to question as first:D I can type 'c-rpg.net' faster than my shadow, even while getting ganked:D
Ofcourse keeping the chat full of insults is a good way of showing new players how awesome and friendly cRPG is, good job GTX.It goes both ways.
I think one of the biggest problems for new players is the high average skill-level + UNFRIENDLY, IGNORANT, SERIOUS, KILLHUNGRY Players, that are literally running towards peasants to kill them ASA they're in sight. Also, banpolls on completely new players, Insults "l2p..." etc.
Tbh I have yet to see something like Fin's example to happen.
Never witnessed such an event. On the contrary - there are always people taking some time during their death to explain things.
Don't create problems where there are none.
And Phase, you overestimate the effect our few trolls - including yourself - have on this community or new players. You're not that important :3
Another Easy solution: Make the maxlvl20 server maxlvl25, therefore it will be visited more and it's much easier being lvl26 on eu1 than lvl21. maxlvl25 will stop any super high level and with the max15k gold will stop experienced players from dominating new players as much? The problem is that again, lvl's are way too powerful to put up a fun game for peasants :/

It can have alts for retirement, and yes, lvl 30 is high, but reachable, so there is no lvl 35 dos handres s key heroes there, but it will be populated all time.
Love the instant lvl20 char though! would help.
Like I suggested a long time ago, make points level based, not just by damage inflicted in hitpoints. Would remove a lot of the peasant killing.

Doubt people do it for points. If someone looks like a newbie and i'm outnumbered, guess who dies first..any extra player is a distraction in a fight, its better to get them dead fast so you can deal with the harder opponents
Might not seem fair but its a logical way to play if you want to win the round
High level characters are too powerful though, Could do what Tydeus said and remove stat increases after level 30. Or something else that makes mid 20's nearly as good as 32+

I once encountered two guys, one of them was a good twohander and the other one was a peasant. "I should leave the peasant alone and fight that twohander" - I thought. But when I was almost winning, that filthy peasant stabbed me in my back and killed me (I had low hp). Ever since then I hunt peasants exclusively.
