Title: What do you value the most?
Post by: darmaster on June 20, 2014, 01:37:04 am
I was looking for chinese music

and the first source i could think of was a movie i watched long time ago, a really good movie called "Hero", rather famous and really well made; well while reading stuff about this movie i read a section on wikipedia about criticism towards this film, for obviously putting unity stability and common welfare above freedom; I, as probably already shown on this forum, agree but I'd really like to see what this community thinks about it: what do you value the most, and why?I know it could go in dangerous directions like "is human naturally good or not", but i really wanted to know your opinion about this, so please share your thoughts.

Well in my opinion, nothing can be itself, without knowing something else first.  And comparing that stuff, maybe you can't have freedom or know what it is without having stable unity and common welfare.  One is not better than the other, each have their own flaws.

I'm pretty sure, we can find plenty of them in both list (good & bad)
Feel free to add them on the list.

The human being, not its civilization or society, is the measure of everything. Those things are only means to a human end. If you are not living for yourself and other human beings then what's the point ? The message of Hero is confucian, and Confucius didn't get everything right.
