Title: Remove the fucking conquest maps from EU2

The server dies. No one wants to play for hours on a 1x multi.
Its friday evening and the server had 1player at around 22:30, instead of the usual 60-80players.

If you want to test a new "kewl" gamemode, please do it on a separate server.
And let those of us who want to actually play,  play.

At least, they should be removed until devs MAYBE want to do something about the reward system of conquest.

Bump

EU2 is unplayable right now.

Siege respawn timer for defenders fucked up
Conquest fucked up in general.

Playing for at least 1 hour to get x5 is just shit (And this is only the case for the usual valour whores)
For the average player getting to x5 takes 1.5 or 2 hours.

And playing one map for that long is just incredibly repetitive and boring.


Change the whole conquest system, multi, round length and number of rounds.

Agreed that multi system is shit on conquest , but I really liked the gameplay and atmosphere , after you figure out what to do I think it is fun as hell, especially if its crowded on* prime time. Also, who needs experience in 2014 anyway?

Conquest is great with many players, but multi system doesn't blend well and defenders spawn too fast with low population, and on rainy maps it rains forever.

This friday it was incredibly crowded, there was 1 person on the server.

Im sure you like the gamemode, and there is probably many more who like it.
Yet the majority does not, and this kills the population on the server.

Last time conquest maps were in the rotation the exact same thing happened, and the time before that and the time before that.

I raise my voice everytime, because i think EU2 should remain as siege.

Use another server for the new gamemode. Then it can be on 24/7 on that server

It was fun this evening, specially since siege isn't fixed, but it wasn't nice to play an hour for an x2 and then keep it for 5 minutes next siege map.

No brainer.

This mode has potential but was removed because of serious issues about reward etc. This causes people on low multis to quit essentially halving the server population each map end.

To reinstate a mode that was removed by common request with no changes is stupid. Its been tested, didnt work so why is it back unchanged? Seriously guys whoever made this decision is a retard or wants more people on Eu1.

Instead of less why not give more xp to attract players like in Strat?

This game mode has a lot of potential, just needs some love.

By the way I like conquest and have played many rounds with x1 because I play for fun.

However an empty server is no fun.

As i said, it was only to test if flags work properly now, because the fix for the problem seemed quite random and we had to make sure they work before going through the struggle of implementing multi. But almost a week has passed and i also said i'll make a poll if the maps should stay in until multi is implemented or if they should be removed until then. And no, Conquest cannot get it's own server.

Would be cool if defense starts on an x5 and attack on x1, for every flag attack take they get +1 multi and defense -1...dunno just some random idea.

I entered this thread to post exactly same idea that came into my mind while shitting !
The drawback is, there is no motive to takeover the fief, If i was an attacker, I would wait at last flag instead of rushing attack right away, i would leech my x4 before dealing the final bow.
Attacker flags can't be recaptured therefore we shouldn't give initiative to change multis to attackers' desire.

Conclusion: Another failed idea.

Allow flags to be recaptured? All ideas welcome, but I like the mode personally and dont give a fuck about 30mins on x1.

I hope i can play in the old beloved maps.
I give up right now playing sieges, it takes to much time to get x5
If we want our mod to live just turn back and use old siege sistem.
I was also overwhelmed by the reintroduction of rageball it's just too fun

Im sure everyone agrees that a conquest mode that works correcly will be superawesome and everyone will want to play it.
And once we get a different exp/gold and upkeep system that day might very well be upon us.

But so far we havent, and my only interest is saving the population we have left.

Yesterday evening there was only 30ppl on EU2 at 22:00 in the evening. Tonight im home early and i see 48ppl at 20:20 on EU2,  that is really low.

Progressing the mod is all very good, but not at the cost of the playerbase. EU2 used to have 100+ players.
Every map that gets added and the population gets lower and lower.

Look at EU1, still going strong. DTV almost always full, EU2? less and less players every year.

I wonder if the map queu could be coded in a way that say only when there are more then 60 players a conquest map will be prompted.

Conquest is quite lame without the numbers... Most people who have x1 will quit or go to another server. 

As for population.... 60-80 people at 10.30???  I logged on around 10pm most nights the last two weeks... It's more 10-30 and by 11 the server is dead.

Need to encourage players to return.... Perma double xp?  Lol

Conquest is fun, even on x1, but not for 1h30m+.
Map change after one round or two rounds with complete defenders-atackers swap, could stop population decrease.

If we could get double Xp for Conquest that would solve the xp problem.and increase the respawn time of the defenders to 10 secs.

We need to test Conquest with a lot of people..

Please Fips i love this mod man...dont kill it...

Conquest went on and allmost everybody RQ the server, please keep conquest out of the siege rotation!! it sucks the way it is now!

Yes please...we were 45 and after 5 minutes of conquest we became 20, then i had to quit myself since couldn't find the enemies in that giant map.

In the last 3-4 weeks, it's evident, the server has lost a lot of players..i think maybe the damages made to eu2 may be fatal, but at least we should try to preserve it before it will be totally destroyed.
Please just remove it from the mods selection and try it only when the admins are online and can asks to the people if they'd like to play it (when there are 60 or more persons and a nice map, the mod can even be fun and balanced as it is now, even if it would need a big change with the multipliers).
You can't force people to play something they don't like...it will only end with an empty server.
