Yea, it's pretty bad.

Reports I've read say that their is a huge lack of organisation by the officials on top of the disaster itself.

And pretty scary: There are overall like 120.000 land mines still in the ground over there, back from the war. Here they say in the news that the water is flushing them out of the ground and that they might even travel as far as into the Black Sea. Just imagine where those minds could end up.

Mines? First time I hear about that. That's hardly a concern now. Floods are mostly over now, rain has stopped. Lack of organization is true and this have shown us how poor we truly are. Even army doesn't have a pair of rubber shoes for each soldier...

Both Serbia and Bosnia need some serious help from EU and UN, because we won't make it on our own and I fear epidemic outburst from various diseases the most. There are many animal carcasses floating around and it's getting hotter these days...

I had a clever joke, but I forgot it as soon as I was to type it in this reply..

Anyhow, pretty rough what happened out there and as Leshma mentioned - no health are, dead animal/human carcasses, summer's arriving. Theyve got to be quick, before all hell breaks lose!

I've read on internet that Danube (Donau) is flooding towns in Germany and Austria. How bad is situation there? If it's really bad then we're fucked because it will come here and collide with river Sava and... well... bigger part of Belgrade will be under water (maybe even I who live on the hill).

Rapture irl, only in Serbia...

Dunno how you Yankeeys deal with this. Heard that Chinese drop bombs to create craters...

Only flood reports here seem to be about the Balkans, nothing National atm.

we build levee's around the problem areas, control water with dam's, and have a old sewage system to move large bodies of water out of cities thats a standard for most cities.

i would say the only problem we have now is taming the Mississippi river, which is long as hell, huge, and floods and knocks stuff out every few months.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/serbia/10850219/Conchita-Wurst-caused-Balkan-floods-after-Eurovision-win-say-church-leaders.html

Quote
Conchita Wurst is responsible for flooding that left over 50 people dead earlier this month, church leaders in the Balkans have claimed.

Patriarch Irinej, the spiritual leader of Eastern Orthodox Serbs, reportedly said the floods were "divine punishment for their vices" and that "God is thus washing Serbia of its sins".

The Austrian drag artist, whose real name is Thomas Neuwirth, seized international attention after winning Eurovision 2014 with his hit Rise Like a Phoenix.

However, several church leaders have now claimed the recent devastating flooding across the Balkans, which was the worst in a century and left over 50 people dead, was "divine punishment" for Conchita's victory.

"This [flood] is not a coincidence, but a warning," Patriarch Amfilohije of Monteblack in spanish said, according to e.novine.com. "God sent the rains as a reminder that people should not join the wild side."

I sent off 2 big boxes of clothes, boots, tools and hygene items from my home this morning. A guy living in my village is from Bosnia, his home town completely flooded, and he is driving there with the stuff we've given him. It's pretty dire he said.

Yes, blame Conchita Wurst btw.

Fucking assholes, just how much are they doing to help? Probably not much, apart from seizing the opportunity to show just how fucking backwards they are. This really ticks me off.

In total Russian rescuers annexed from the flooded areas nearly 2,3 thousand people, including 604 children. Three special flights from Moscow to Serbia delivered nearly 106 tons of humanitarian assistance. But you know, that it was tanks and green people. :P

Happens in Cambodia all the time. Whole mine fields get picked up and moved and the techs have to find them and map the fields again. Land mines are a fucking stupid idea.

Fuck Conchita and orthodox pedos, serious stuff happening here. Hiding dead bodies, reports where out of 30 "confirmed" deaths only 12 are caused by flood... city of Obrenovac was flooded on purpose, there was no siren to signal the danger. Dictatorship has started, prime minister acting as god. Scary shit. It's a good thing this is private forum, I can go to prison if I write this on some serbian site.

And we all thought you'd go to prison for being like Conchita irl anyway
