Title: plate noobies
Post by: spiritus on May 15, 2014, 05:48:54 pm
(just a basic rusty idea i have no idea what can actually be implemented into crpg)An idea i have is that the str req should be increased for armor and IF should play a role many people including san have talked about this and how IF should help. Iron flesh should count as "str" if plate armour is 24 str req and you have 15 str every point of iron flesh would count as 2 "str" therefore for an agi build to obtain  plate you would have to invest into ironflesh 5 points of IF. I think this is a needed change so all these noobs in plate may be punished for wearing plate. There would have to be adjustments tho this is just a simple idea not a final plan or something tho this could possible work if all amour req was increased

Because let's punish all the plate users cuz they're noobs no skill autoglance 1hitkill lame scrubs. How do they manage to pay the upkeep btw they must be leeching as welll!

An issue with that is 9 strength + 3IF having access to medium+ armor and 12str access to most armor, if you want to call it one. Would be harder to design around it and doubt difficulty can be tweaked to work for both skill and attribute points.

i mean you would have to tweak things out acorse but something like this and raising the req across the board

Get a blunt or pierce weapon as offhand or through secondary modes or simply just out maneuver them. Its not hard to fight plate really..

I think you're forgetting about the upkeep for plate.

I'm sorry, but can you clean up your post a bit Spiritus? I don't want to decipher something incorrectly.

edit: fuck it

editar dos: Ye, I think you're having trouble just fighting these nerds. If I get bored in a fight, I end up spamming and dying. I'm guessing that's what happens to you as well When I kill you, it's because you spam and die. So long as you stay focused and keep blawking, you should do a pretty good deal of damage on them. The only thing that I'd like to see is less agi using heavier armor. You can't stop the plate noobs by increasing str requirement. I'm going home now, 3muchrambling5me.

Plate wearers are usually incredibly easy to dispose of unless it's a bunch of them sticking together.
*cough* acre *cough*

If you had chosen a different title and be less offensive, you would have had as much +1 as the thread by Panos which basically says the same thing : increase str armor for heavy armor (obvious), and maybe use the Iron Flesh skill as a way to add a 2nd layer (less obvious).

My own experience tells me that all full-platers tend to be clunky and can be dealt with very easily by using just a small bit of footwork. Surely it is annoying that sometimes even 5 slashes from a Long Bardiche won't bring them down, but they do pay the toll in mobility.

i always thought difficulty of all armours should be increased ~~ 30%, and the weight of all armours should be increased by ~~20%

gauntlets should also be given a flat rate of armour

(give leather and mail mittens have 0.5 weight, 2 armour,
lamellar gauntlets, scale gauntlets etc 1 weight, 4 armour,
plate gauntlets, black gauntlets etc, 2 weight and 6 armour)

getting 16 body armour from 2 weight is frankly ridiculous and should've been changed years ago.
