Title: Weapon Speed: 92 vs. 96 on a 2-Hander..
Post by: Tanken on May 18, 2011, 05:45:24 pm
I am seriously in love with my Maiodao, but I find myself always wanting to try new weapons. I went with the Flamberge, and didn't like it much due to the speed being so slow. Today I purchased a Danish Greatsword with a speed rating of 92 and it has longer length than Maiodao. Was curious, how big of a difference am I going to notice between a Speed Rating of 92, and 96?

Seems like there's no -real- clear way to understand how a weapon's speed rating is determined...or am I just not looking in the right spot?? Any suggestions or comments is definitely welcome! Newer player always getting a feel for more weapons.

I think the difference is quite clearly noticable. Try it yourself and see.

if you want to have an idea of how fast you'll be swinging it take length and speed into consideration, shorter weapons will often be paster while longer ones slower.  However if the differences are relative you probably wont notice much of a difference.

The length of the Maiodao is roughly 11-12 less than that of the Danish Greatsword, but the Greatsword is 4 less in Speed Rating. I may be surprised, but I couldn't pass the sword up at a price of 9k on the Marketplace lol.

edit: It's 9 less in length. Gut it's 2.8 in weight and the Danish Greatsword is 2.5
