Roll mechanic is great, get knocked over and it's a "skilly" kind of way to survive, don't know anyone who doesn't like it.
I was just wondering if it's possible to add something similar to the roll mechanic when you're dismounted from your horse?
Obviously this would give cavalry players a bit more of an advantage, so to make sure it's not OP you could also make it so that when a player's horse dies he takes a certain amount of hit points (or maybe 20% of his total or something), and if he manages to perform the roll successfully he doesn't take any damage.
Just a thought, let me know what you think, Corsair :)

Hey good idea. I like your idea of maybe damaging the rider if the horse dies, or, in the alternative, if you're going to allow the roll, I think the horse's dead body should stop shielding the rider after it dies, because that is a big boon for cav and yall probably don't realize it. As a ranged player, I used to delight in those 1 or 2 seconds where I could line up a head shot, but that is no longer possible since horses began simply absorbing ranged attacks even after death.

What about if he manages a perfect frontflip after his horse died he gains 20% HP?

If you have pretty high riding (like 7), you should be able to stand in the saddle and then vault off.
I just want to see San do some insane flyinghorsejump360lolstabbullshit kill.

I was wondering this the other day, glad you posted it!!:)
Can you roll when you get knocked down by a unbalanced weapon, if not then i think you should be able to:)

I'd say better keep it as it is now.
The problem I see is that it'd be very difficult to make this whole thing look smooth enough, to avoid something like "the horse dies and slides forward, rider stops and falls down then suddenly continues moving forward by rolling".
If your horse dies while it's standing, it will most likely press you down with its body when it falls. If it dies while moving, well, the roll would make sense I guess, but players "slide" on the floor far enough already when that happens.
Or maybe I'm just in skeptical mood right now. :|

Didnt we have this already?. I swear ive seen guys falling from horseback and rolling.. or maybe i smoke too much while playing?.

No buffu cavuu pls.

As cavalry I do not think this is a good idea. It would be too big of a buff to cav getting dismounted.
I do think it would be cool if cav could dismount while still moving (they would roll and take damage, similar to jumping out of a moving car in Grand Theft Auto)
