Title: Next Car Game!

Done by the former FlatOut developers BugBear. Well, those who made the good FlatOut parts I might add.

It's really good fun, cars feel believable, heavy, different from each other, weight distribution (where's the engine mounted) is nicely present in the handling. Overall it's gonna be a great racing game which comes along very arcady in its looks but feels close to a sim.

All these crashes must be fun for nine year olds.

Yea, it's totally in line with the old FlatOut titles but they really improved the car handling. I can't get over it that they actually feel that awesome. Just 3 cars yet but the difference between them is so distinctive. They did a great job on that.

Why ? Is there much skill involved in this game ? The crashes look wonderful, but I'm more interested in gameplay.

You won't ever make it even in the top10 when the race finishes if you don't actively avoid crashes and use them yourself tactical. The races are overall pretty tactical.
I have to say that the damage taken isn't affecting the handling much atm but I am sure they gonna work on that. I've read that the softbody damage system isn't complete yet.

Derby on the other hand is just pure crashing madness but even there, it's pretty hard to survive into the top5. So, yea, there is skill involved though it might not look like it.
