Title: Please Fix Flags
Post by: AshTre on April 24, 2014, 06:14:45 pm
When flags pop up 20 seconds after spawning in on a 10v10 is kind of annoying. Plz fix.

The fact that it sometimes doesn't work even after reaching the top is more of an issue, imo.

I thought that's what this thread was going to be about. I like that flags spawn early when the server has a low population. Helps to prevent one or two guys playing hide and seek when teams are 10v10 or less on a giant map meant for 60+ players.

It'a kind of disappointing when an interesting 5v5 at the end of the round is ruined by lolflags. Or when someone's going hero mode with a clutch comeback but get boned by a flag cap because they were 5 seconds too slow. The old flags really weren't that bad imho. Having rounds last just over a minute on average is really obnoxious and makes the game feel kind of arcadey.

Maybe consider adding more constraints on flag spawns. They're nice to have sometimes but spawning them literally every round is excessive.

The minimum amount of time that flags can spawn, is 30 seconds after the round start. After that, time is added based upon how many players are alive. With 10 players alive on the team with the fewest amount of players(again, of ones that are alive), flags should be spawning something like 50 seconds into the round. Depending on map sizes, I could see how this could be an issue, but for most I don't think it's an issue. I get up early every day, and often play in the mornings, so I've seen many scenarios like the above, and I just don't see it as an issue with current functionality.

Yeah, unfortunately, I've looked at the script several times to try and find the bug. I just can't find it though.  :(
