Title: Dedicated 2hander with MW Highland
Post by: El_Infante on May 17, 2011, 10:49:54 pm
Hello!

What do you think is a good build to use with MW Highland? I like the first one to maximize 46dmg of the weapon, but I want your suggestions as experiencied 2handers.

24/15

21/18

18/21

Thanks ;-)

High Str helps more in a fight than high Ath. Def. numbah 1

I guess your weapon deals enough damage with 7PS.
I would go 21/18 because i like balanced builds.

But in the end you have to try it out because all of those will work very well and its a question of your style.
PS: If it is your final build and you dont want to retire anymore a balanced build will protect you from nerfs/buffs to
str or agi in the future.

The claymore already deals tons of damage so you don't really need that much str.

Going 18/21 will work great, 7 ath really means having the upper hand in combat, projectile evasion, retreating and catching fleeing archers. Furthermore, you will be reasonably fast even with heavy armors, which is not the case with str builds.

matter of taste. I like to play with high strength much more nowadays. maybe that will change again someday but with my 9 IF and PS I feel very safe and I like it very much if for example some ninja surprises me with his katana, hits me 2-4 times until i finally hit him back and bam, he's dead :P
also I've seen some archers going desperate when i charge at them straight, catch like 6 arrows and finally crush him. of course, more clever archers will kill me easily.

24/15 or 21/18 for battle, 18/21 for dueling

This man is crazy. If anything, it's the complete opposite. High ath = useful in battle for moving around the battlefield and choosing your fights. Pretty much useless in duels. A good duel build would be something like 30/12

I think that 18/21 or 21/18 are balanced builds. Other builds like 24/15 or 15/24 have specific roles insted or balanced which you can decide what to do in each moment of a battle. As I see, each 2hander have his style of playing.

Another question: Is 18/21 enough to reach routed archers with a equipment like this?
- Coat of plates
- Mail boots
- Sallet
- Wisby gauntlets

Well not sure about duel build, I never focused on one, always been 18/18 cavalry.
But I do know high PS and fast kills do fine in battle.
