Title: 1 handers
Post by: ilikere19 on April 05, 2014, 12:40:12 am
So I got myself a +3 Iberian mace next to my cut weapon, my niuweidao. I was wondering when to switch to my iberian mace, what I mean is when I see guys with heavy armor i know i should switch, but how heavy should their armor be to maximize the effectiveness of my mace.

I guess you could test it out yourself. just put your build, weapon, armor weight and so on to the dmg tester and right at the bottom you can choose how much armor the "enemy" has.

I don't switch to my blunt weapon based on my opponent's armor, I switch based on the location on the map (I only play siege). I use my warhammer in close quarters clusterfvcks, and my sword in the open field.

OPs secondary weapon is almost as short as the hammer.

So there is really no need for him to switched based on close quarter or open area combat.
Since both weapons are somewhat equally effective in close quarters.

Follow the first advice.

You have to get within kick range to strike with an iberian, but that's not true with the niuweidao. +3 Iberian will out damage the niuweidao against anyone other than peasants, so the damage calculator won't provide any useful insight. Basically, if you are fighting someone 1v1, the niuweidao would be better, but in a chaotic battle, you want the most damage output possible (Iberian), and short length is an asset, not a liability.
