Am I allovved to make a clan and take the Tag of another clan?

Like can I make a clan called No Ordinary Random Dudes and make the tag Nord_(myname)?

VVhat if I made faction called Nordmen of Tihr, and the tag Nord_(myname)?

Cause I dont think it should be allovved (sure many ppl use their STF to troll clannames etc but actually basing an entire clan on it and making your tag the same as someone else's?)

Opinions please. Official imput also please. Thanks.

I think it should fall under common sense. Your clan name should be clearly unique otherwise you will risk people spoiling a clan's image just because they can.

I think the common sense rule applies here... You really should be more creative and not steal anyone's tag.

I think there is a grey area with some names though. It might be that some words should not be "owned" by a clan, but can still be used if the intention is not to simply confuse players or make fun of another clan. Like I think we should be able to have people using the word Deserter or Templar because they are fairly generic and should be available if a clan wants to include the word in their name.

It should be a clearly different name though, like if they call themselves The Grey Deserters their tag shouldn't be Deserters, it should be TGD or so

There already is a difference cuz the "original" is commonly known as the adorable "Templols" already. You can't steal the history!

Getting your clan same tag as the already existing isn't fine imho. Luckily in cRPG we can have different banners so even if there were 2 Templar_ clans roaming we could still distinguish some players from other, also we've been playing for ages and everyone knows everyone else, so it's easy to see who is who or where, anyway there shouldn't be 2 clans with same clan tags.

My vievv is:
1/ VVe are the Templars, if they vvanted to join, vve do not shut out doors in the face of those seeking sanctuary. Noone has been turned avvay to date that I knovv of.
2/ No part of Calradia is knovvn as Czech-anything. There is no place for real vvorld politics in a game, vve leave those things at the loading screens and are Templars, Mercs, Nords, Fallen scum, etc. Clans that pick players by naionality have alvvays irked me: If you vvant to keep things local, get off the internet, this is vvhere vve come to meet ppl from all over and be friends, not dravv lines on the internet map...

I dunno, maybe I'm overreacting, but Saxon does make a good point: He doesnt seem happy at the idea of some other tits using his clantag and name.... I dont either.

As long as it's not a racial slur, you should be able to name your character whatever you want.

Yes, it's a dick move to copy someone's name or tag, but we shouldn't take ourselves so seriously.

Their tag is Templars_ tho, not Templar_
They got another name, they use another banner.. guess in that case it seems alright, especially when you consider that the Templar thing is really - really - popular. No idea why, but it really - really - is...

Otherwise if you make a clan and your tag could be similar to one that's taken already, think again.
