lets admit, no one uses these things, there shitty and slow and lame (although, great for showing off a nice banner)
why not give em a buff
-
They were already buffed a good amount through resistance. Probably just underused since people just stick with the shield looms they already have.
weight: 9
body armor: 17
difficulty: 4
hit points: 600
speed rating: 77
shield height: 94
shield width: 56
17 body armour, 600 hp, almost as much width as a round shield.
Edit: In what ways should they be buffed?
-
Any idea when this was buffed Sans? I feel like that shield was crap last time I used it; it breaks right off the bat. Maybe I haven't used it since the buff if that's the case.

Only way to buff it is to make it round

So I wondereth.
Is it possible, code wise, to have two items linked to a certain ability?
Say a [board shield] equiped with [spear, red tassle,X spear] would be able to press X to go into shield wall mode. A stationary position in which you cant move that acts like the wooden spikes?
Epic bin explanation 01=0 10=0 11=1
With some sort of "cooldown" on entering and leaving the stance, much like mountin/demounting a horse.
Only rears horses with 2 or more players in "shieldwall" stance nearby. I reckon this kind of character communication is possible as the old gold/xp system worked like this, right? The more players where near eachother the more xp/gold you got?

in merc mod, board shield have a secondary use where the player can choose to put shield on/into ground, making it a temp. stationary sort of siege shield that also stops horses. player can take it back and use it as normal board shield as well of course.

They were buffed with the resistance increase, though not by much I think.
I think their durability and coverage can't get much better than how it is now. At +3, bolts would even have trouble penetrating. I think a small speed increase along with some of the other slower shields is the only option it has if the durability stays the same.

This. To be fair the only way to really improve their usability would be to increase the width. The model itself is fine though, projectiles just go through.

Yup, it should def be wider, doesn't really matter tho. I have 7 shield any range still finds its way around my shield
