Seriously some people spawn with fog and some don't at strat battles and just take a look at the pic. How can you pew pew other ranged while they have no fog and your screen looks like this grey-fog-emo-weather...

A fact that some other ranged can shoot you nicely from this distance and that you can't see any of them at the same time is really annoying.

Discuss so this doesn't get moved to chamber of tears but something is done about emo weather.

Fog would be ok as a situational nerfing for ranged and cav if it was the same for everyone.
The fact that some people might have fog and some might have not makes it complete bullshit, in that case it's better to remove the fog completely.

The problem is fog is determined client side...not by the server...that's the problem.

This has been a problem since weather was introduced, and many a thread have been created about it.

^What he said. More than half the archers have the No Fog as its conveniently located in the beginners guides...

Man I like fog but it still sucks that it depends so much on if you go into a server at one minute vs the next. I remember a strat battle where I was ranged and I got fucked up. I was like "HOW THE FUCK ARE THEY SEEING ME? THERE'S FUCKING FOG EVERYWHERE!" Then I found out that most people had no fog and so I quit and rejoined.. and voila! No fog.

Still messed up that people can basically get around the whole fog thing making it useless and altering the game so people have an advantage over others in those situations. Its amazing for archers/xbows to have no fog if other ranged do. You can see them.. they can't see you.

But like huseby said... its been known for a while.

What amazes me most is that it just hasn't been removed altogether to create a fair playing field, if it sits in the beginners guide and isn't classed as cheating by removing it, then what's the point in having it at all. Get rid of it.

the devs know that a great amount of people have edited their files to disable fog,
can they blacklist those files from being modified in the launcher or nah?

Don't get me wrong, i do like fog being apart of the game; but when theres snipers and archers shooting you through the mist, it gets annoying and i felt like i had to change my files so i could play "fairly"  :rolleyes:

I guess it should be able to be force checked and updated it not same "version".

Fog can be a great enemy or a great friend. Make it your friend, even as an archer  :)

No, even if it updates and adds it in literally every time you start the launcher, you could then after starting the launcosjnf;nsd;lnff;lkjzsdbf zfcvxQiuy;lkv,.

All I learned in that Strat battle is that giving any bow 48 missile speed is just a downright terrible idea. Can't even dodge at like 50 meters distance, it is pretty much point and click. But yeah fog is stupid as it has a big effect on gameplay while not effecting everyone. Remove fog completely and remove the mechanic effects of rain.

I were rejoining like 4 times that battle and i still had fog.

Fog and rain are funny game mechanics, but it should be on server side and unable to delete it.

So untill fog will be for everyone pls remove it from game.

Also example from EU1 fev months ago:
I joined server when state were like 3:0 for enemies, but they had fog and i didn't. Map ends with 4:3 for my team and i had like 24 kills.
It's best example to show how having no fog is OP
