Hey everyone, I recently started playing runescape again, but not that new evolution of combat shit, I'm talking about the good runescape (besides classic). I guess I didn't have a character before as I had to restart, but the levels are going by quickly

Btw, how is RS more nerdy then any other MMO?  :mrgreen: thats just a populistic statement CoD retards say! It is a game like any other game, its probably just the fact that most of us played it at a very young agethat could make you feel that way.

Lore is pretty good aswell, i love doing the quests, alot of info is obtainable from quest items such as books etc. They always contain nice lore. :)

I do, its fun - a bit wow-ish

The worst thing bout rs is that there are now low-level bosses/instances, its just one big grind the first year.l

I touched RS3 a little, even though my stats are way better on that guy I still love this version more. I so wish I was playing when they had sign ups for classic open, because you can't start it on new accounts now, and it'd be awesome playing how it was originally :(.

Haha yeah, I think they only call it that because someone was planning on bringing back servers for runescape from 2007 (I think free to everyone), and Jagex had to step in and take that over, and this is just what they call their version of that.

Classic is epic! My fave version of the game, ou can get in on open-weekend/weeks events, I think, then you will have perm access. (I have on an other acc ^^) but it is too boring playing alone, i would rock that shit if only i had friends to play with..  :cry:

How is the trade working? Is it oldschool aswell? I mean login to trade server and go near the bank and start writing ''WTB'' ''WTS'' etc etc.... I've made a fortune by buying and selling rune armor in old days or selling lobster  :lol:

There's no grand exchange in old school, so yeah, Varrock west bank is usually flooded with people selling and buying shtuff

I remember going to the local library with my school friends to play runescape when i was a kid, i cried when my character was killed by a barbarian, haha. they eventually banned the game in the library because hordes of school kids where using every single computer in there for runescape.

when you go to train combat, get a slayer task and kill your task, you will get much needed slayer levels while you train up your combat.
higher level slayer tasks also yield great money.

I was so fucking proud
Then I went too far into the wilderness and got kill by demons.



Actually, I remember I used to have a book about runescape, it was like a little strategy guide/lorebook.
I think I still have the book buried somewhere, I'll dig it out when I get home.

Im playing the new gen Runescape. I actually prefer it over the old. It's little less hardcore in the grinding. Made a new character and and got it to 40-50 mining/smithing. Then I figured out my old account is still working so I have 2 accounts now. But someone cleansed my old account from all its wealth :(

I haven't made much money. I did some mining, but other than that I got it all from combat. I stopped playing summer 2013 after I got bored and ended up losing my whip in a stake. The whip was half my bank.

I forgot how far I actually progressed before I quit again, a lot of quests done but not much skilling.

I guess they're bringing back the GE and renaming all of the herbs again, pretty lame.

I still cant beleieve I once leveled up a skill that requires you to waste thousands upon thousads logs of wood, so you can waste thousands upon thousands of higher grade logs of wood...

Soon people will ask for new combat system aswell  :wink: People are forgetting why they even wanted the old runescape to begin with. Many said without GE there was a lot of player interractions when trading, and that new runescape sucks because of GE making it simple etc. Oh nostalgia, funny thing.

Nah, it was pretty big in the US too, used to go to the library to play it with my friends after school back in '05 or '06.

and my combat level is 78. Also 100 quest points and I did all the free quests. I'm pretty sure I didn't get that far along when I was younger.

I think I might start playing again, at least every now and then.  Not too sure about getting members again but I'll get frustrated with not being able to bank anything new eventually and probably break down

As much as i like giving in to nostalgia, im also agreeing with Banok, old combat really is 100% dice roll. I think new RS looks like it has some neat new things going for it, i would probably give it another shot werent i knee deep into monster hunter.
