Title: WSE and Linux(Ubuntu)?
Post by: Krex on March 15, 2014, 01:54:03 pm
Im thinking about changing my OS to Linux Ubuntu, but I want to play with WSE2.
I have heard someone saying, that the game wont start if you use Linux and try to run WSE.Is that true? And,if so,is there a fix for it?

EDIT:Im talking about the WSE2 Beta.

My suggestion would be to go for a dual boot instead.
Get the good things from both sides...

You can run WSE2 on Linux using Wine (might also need to install d3dx_43 with winetricks).

@Molly:Thought about that first too,but then I could just keep Windows and use a VM.
@cmp:Thanks,thats all I wanted to know.

I can confirm this, even on my ATI GPU, wich are notorious for their bad Linux driver support, cRPG/WSE2 performed really well.

That's what I used to do. Now I actually use VMware to run my Linux Mint since I use Linux just for Latex and Kile
