Title: Crpg keeps crashing
Post by: Bcleary on January 08, 2011, 02:03:44 am: I was playing earlier today, but when i tried to get on tonight the game crashed every time i tried to join a server. It shows up for about 4 seconds and then the game stops responding. I deleted the Crpg i had and downloaded the Newest version and tried it again, but it continued to crash.

Edit: Downloaded .201 yet it still crashes on me.

This popped up in the .201 version after i clicked multiplayer and again when I clicked on the server:

Crashing character's name is SonOfSonOfSpoons_RS

Post by: Paul on January 08, 2011, 02:21:43 pm: Some time ago there was a problem with broken profiles.dat, resulting in the same crashes as OP descriped. One solution - if you can accept remaking your characters faces - is to delete the profile.dat. But maybe deleting and remaking(same name for cRPG identification) the crashing char ingame is the easier solution.

Using windows 7 and steam. Didn't really have a problem with Crpg but since latest patch I'm always getting AppCrash. Native works fine and starting up in native switching mods to join still makes it crash. Deleting all the profiles and making them again still makes me crash.

Sometimes I get lucky and I can play for an entire map. only to crash the next map losing my multiplier.
But most of the time it crashes just as I joined, you know the 2-3 second delay before it begins loading characters; just when it loads characters it crashes OR when actually clicking done (equipment screen) and it loads my character it crashes.

Also weird is that it crashes midgame... when quite a few people have died. :(

Dunno what to do. I have deleted the cRPG folder multiple times (read: a thousand times) and installed the latest version (2.01) and it still crashes. Help?

Post by: chadz on January 09, 2011, 01:34:41 am: There will be a new version soon - it might bring some improvements for performance in general. However, I've yet to figure out what is really causing crashes, although I do get them myself, too.

Keep posting anything that you think could be the reason, or that fixes it, so I have an easier time finding the error.

Post by: ShinySpoons on January 09, 2011, 02:26:44 am: Alright, so I changed the face of one of the crashing characters which worked. However, another character whose face I changed had no change. I deleted the character (through the warband multiplayer menu, not crpg site) then made a new one with the same name. I managed to log in but spawned naked with level 0. I tweaked his face, relogged and crashed ><

edit- I got as far as the faction selection screen for the latest crash

Post by: NoSense on January 09, 2011, 05:22:56 am: I just downloaded the new 201 patch and when I click to open the cRPG mod it loads about 40% then it crashes to the desktop and I get this error:

RGL ERROR: Unable to open file: Modules\cRPG\Resources\anim_papa_lazarou.brf

I am a windows Vista 64bit user and I am playing it on Steam.

The trick of switching from native to cRPG when selecting a cRPG server results in the same error.

"Load Textures on Demand" has been on the whole time, but I tried it without it and I still get the same error the same way.

Post by: ShinySpoons on January 09, 2011, 09:20:51 am: Have you downloaded .200 as well? If not, delete your crpg folder and reinstall it. Even if you have, delete and reinstall anyways. Sounds like you're missing data for the new animations which is found in the .200 patch

For Win7 users, profile.dat is located in C:\Users\Your user name\AppData\Roaming\Mount&Blade Warband

Don't bother reinstalling Warband/cRPG, the profile.dat file in AppData can only be removed manually.

Deleted the profiles.dat and reinstalled did seem to help, I mean... managed to play 2 maps after each other.
But then it crashed once... and now its like every 2-3 rounds it crashes :(

It is really weird though... managed to play through a couple of maps again and now I'm getting the crashing sequence again. Which is that it usually crashes when I start running just after spawn. Tried doing custom battles... 200v200 and its working fine so I don't know what it is.

edit: busy right now with downloading new patch to see if it works for me :)

Downloaded and played for a bit... and crashed... think it might be just my computer if nobody else has any problems with it. Kinda weird that any other game works. (mass effect 2, two worlds II, etc).
