Yeah, Turks high as fuck not letting Turkish letters in nicks in their own game and shit.
Is there a way possible to add this? So we can use "ı,ç,ü,ğ,ö,ş" , Germans can use "ß and a with dots" , French can use é and Spanish can use their N with a strange hat etc....
and Latvian potato letters Ē Ū Ī Ā Š Ģ Ķ Ļ Ž Č Ņ
French ç à é â ê ô è î œ ï
Make it happen!
Pros:
People will know it is actually "Kapıkulu"
Hetman will stop calling Bozdağ "Bozdag"
I can change my nickname to Kratoğğs
-
We will then call you Kratogoodgames
-
...and the chat will be spammed with turkish cus many turks dont know english? :D
-
Ehm, turks already use those symbols in the chat.
It's about nicknames. You shouldn't be able to use that stuff in nicknames anyway.
-
Please no. :)
-
u forgot latvians have their Ē Ū Ī Ā Š Ģ Ķ Ļ Ž Č Ņ :D
-
Пожалуйста, разрешать русские буквы в чат! Спасибо.

Yes turks made the game. but they didn't make it for turks :D its for a global audience unless you think massive bold Cyrillic names would be cool too.

You can't use turkish or russian names because no one is able to read that anyway.
For anyone except russian a name always looks like this:
CYNPCD3XAT6o

ç à é â ê ô è î œ ï for french

You can use a HEX editor to change names. Basically you make a name like "Kapiikulu", open up your character's information in the HEX editor, highlight "ii" and replace the HEX for those two letters with the HEX for "ı", save, and launch up cRPG. Nevertheless, you will get kicked immediately, because special characters aren't allowed on the servers.
Supposedly there were issues with kicking players from servers if they had a name with special characters, but I've heard they have long since been patched in Native.
If you go to the Víkingr mod, you will see many names with special characters like ð þ æ ö and so on.
-
How to ponounce Bozdag correctly?
I don't believe its possible to pronounce "ğ" if you re not Turkish :D
For ex. in the word "Dağ" -mountain" The Da is pronounced like Russian "Yes" and at the ğ you have to keep making the a voice from your throat. Don' try it :D

Sure hex editor but that would be real bullshit that russians could change their name while we share the same servers and no one but russians will be able to read or write any of those names. And it is no help on the site either if you were looking for a people's item to buy.
No thanks.
nothing wrong about using real names that everyone can read and write.

oh so you say "dah" then you take a swig of water and then gurgle it to make the G sound?
or is it more flemmy?

If those characters would be allowed in nicknames everyone would use them, so you wouldn't be able to tell if someone is a turk or not anyway.
But it will surely attract more players to the game.

But it will surely attract more players to the game.
Why?
-
Iirc there was a way to instantly make servers crash by using a specific nickname
-
Why?
It would completely change how people spell their names.
So instead of killing normal letter players you could kill all kinds of exotic named players. I look forward to it.
I will also buy a name change at the auction and rename to Rïddaren.
-
That's really not worth the time to change code and allow that. Plus russian is already awful enough to see in chat.

Is that computer code?

When George Washington invented the American Alphabet in 1776, he declared "stupid looking hairy letters that are covered in dumb squiggly lines" to be illegal.

Don't forget the Cherokee!
ᎢᏝᏫᏓᏔᏩᎿᏓᏓᏜᏝᏝᎧᎿ
Hope I spelled that right

Any language except for Master Race English...and Spanish is gay.
-
We should remove everything from names besides the basic numeric characters.
-
It is possible to use Chinese as nicknames in native, but it crashes CRPG for some reason...
