Look at price of construction site :shock:
Without weapons rack, archers are pretty poked as they'll run out of ammo;
Without construction sites, engineers unable to make catapults and forward spawns etc etc.
Do I need to change my strat character to a 200 ping shielder? (looooooooooooooool).

No, it means that trading has just been bumped to priority #1 for most clans.
Seriously dude, don't take the price increase as the death of your class, take it as an incentive to earn immense amounts of silver.

Because everyone is in low armour and the fact that ranged weapons can be easily be picked up again when the person using it dies (with little to no chance of the enemy getting it before you do) ranged is actually strongest in the early parts of strategus. For the first few battles there probably won't be many if any ranged weapons but people will be buying the very expensive ones soon, you only need 10-20 for an army.

-1 best(arbalest & super bows)ranged weapon per user for entire battle is enough
-Learn to loot ammo all the time
Also archers are now superpower since everybody wears cheap shit. The only problem is battle commanders who doesn't realize that 5 arbalests(even for a 1k army) in your team is better that 50 hunting crossbows(Hi, Arrowaine! :) )

Good engineers and ranged just became a lot more valuable. Good ladder throwers are now worth their weight in gold.
Personally I think this version is shit but hey it seems that lots of xp in strat battles was worth everyone crying about so for the next 10 months we will get 1/10 the xp of strat4.

I think were getting more xp now, not sure how the system works, but allways thought it has something to do with item prices, more price on items, more xp per item.
And yeh, archers are alot better at the start of strat, melee guys will be swinging same weapons as u have sheathed while ur shooting, and they wont have armors to protect them from arrows, nor shields that could take more then couple arrows, if shields at all...

This! Increased prices just means we are getting same xp with less plate armor.

Oh wow, hadn't considered benefits of no plate so much - only ever been involved in end of last strat so have "plate mindset" will be fun to shoot peasants for a change! XD
