im glad to announce the first contract of strat 5 for the Mercenaries!


16.02.2014 - 02.03.2014

Mercs will give full roster support to the GREY's for this time!


all done for the epic opening price of 115 strategus stones (one for each member)
*for sure prices will increase immediately ;)

Yea, and don't forget their allies bitches, greys, drz, kapi have 645 members together(is there even that many plaing crpg?!?! :o) I didn't even count with bys and nords as I'm not 100% sure where they stand in this strat...

Looking at the rosters it seems Byz and Nords are behind the Greys. Forget the old underpowered UIF, here's the new Super-UIF with 1000 members. GG :)

Anyways, interesting to see where the Merc style will go this strat, so good luck. I can say I was not expecting this agreement :oops:

Has more to do with the fact that we want to prove that we can fight with one of our old enemys and are truelly neutral.

I have to agree that breaking the old grudges and alliances from previous strategus rounds sould like a very good idea indeed. But if it ends up being the old care-bear alliance + mercs against all smaller factions then I think this strat is already over.  :?

i don't get where all this hatred is coming from, for once us Mercs are actually doing what we are meant to be doing, all other Strats we have been pulled into East vs West wars and quite frankly we are a little bored of it, I'm sure most of you are.

This was shown as a way to show the rest of the community that we are in fact neutral and no grudges from the past will effect us this Strat. No matter who you are you can look for the support of the Mercs whether you are the biggest faction or the smallest.

This two week contract is hardly going to help the Grey's a great deal, its only roster support.

But in answer to your question this is just roster power, but contracts extend to a variety of things.

Its a contract. It has an end date. you could always erm enquire about possible contracts instead of just going waaaa mercs took out a contract with someone who isn't us :(

or you know form your own mercenary group and sell yourself

Mercenaries doesnt have to explain why they do shit, they do shit for gold.

Happily surprised at this turn of event, I want to be in at least one of them grey battles just to hear some greys and mercs chatting up.

2 weeks contract?!? i think the contract will be more like 2 months... So as it looks now it the Kalmar Union vs this huge pact/alliance? And then there are maybe few other small/medium sized clans that havent chosen their side yet? hahaha  :twisted:

You guys are getting upset about this way too much, it is barely much more than a symbolic contract as it covers the first two weeks of strat, which is also why the price was pretty much symbolic. Mercs wanted to show they will genuinely operate as mercenaries this time and therefore they signed a symbolic contract with their biggest old enemy. Nothing important is going to go down in the first two weeks and in case you haven't noticed, a third of the contract period is almost over already.

If you think this is such a big deal, better get your wallets ready on the 2nd of March and buy yourself dat merc roster support.

Time will tell if you were right or wrong, time works for the truth! Whatever people decide, in the end they dont have to explain themselves anyway. But I think you're underestimating the importance of the first weeks of strategus, and the way "bonds" form between clans, like how GO and DRZ are brothers since time immemorial. I dont see this happening between mercs and go but people fear it may happen and further unbalance strategus. I dont believe they will but its still a probability.

Mercs are not responsible for the east-west divide and I'm fine with them mercing for the Greys. Afaik they proposed a deal to other parties as well, so it's all good. However I would urge Teeth to look in to a mirror to see which of the big clans has made a questionable choice (balance wise) in their alliance :D

Definetly only way to prove fact of being truly mercs is to begin from work contract with former enemies.

I think moment later some other clan will pay with real silver or gold, not stones. To fill roster, aslike clanless traders, for with most teryfing moment at strat is being attacked by any clan (no chance to make real roster). As long mercs won't like to keep too many land for themselves idea should work nice.

The whole "mercenary for money" thing is rather pointless when they keep playing on other random battles for any side.

Having Mercs in the roster is supposed to be a money deal. Why on Earth are they then "helping" others out for free?

Overall not well enough thought through but +1 for the effort I guess :P

Roster support it two fold:

1. get a lot of support from on elf the bigger clans

2. make sure they don't sign up against you in a big war
