Title: A Request to Make a NA Map Manager
Post by: Lt_Anders on February 16, 2014, 12:45:32 am
Could we Change out Fips and Teeth off the NA server rotation and Implement an NA player who plays the servers to do it? Nothing against Fips or Teeth, but they can't play often on NA servers and we need someone who plays the servers and can listen and learn from the everyday player.

(assuming an NA player would be willing)

Yes, please. It would be such a relief to have someone from NA that could get some actual feedback on the NA map rotation. Oh wait, you can do that without being map manager! °_°
Let me introduce you to a magical place called "Scene Editing": http://forum.melee.org/scene-editing/

Yes, and few of people that play use the forum. And why are you against a NA person hm?  Let NA maintain their own Maps independent of EU.

I didn't say i was against having an NA map manager?!
I'd love to see Elindor or Thranduil step up and get that whole NA-problem off my back, but they didn't want to, which i completely understand now after being scene manager for like 10 months or so. And there haven't been a lot of other people i would trust to take care of this properly. Or, the trust of Tydeus, Canary, san and all the other NA staff/admins.

My bad then. I was reading it as a sarcastic response with the link to the scene community right after that statement.

Also, why would the Map guy need to be trusted by NA admins. It would be an entirely seperate area?

How else could some EU guy know who to trust with this task? If the NA people i hang out with in irc or who got trusted an admin position tell me that "this guy" could take care of the NA map rotation just fine, i'd take their word for it.

I am a simplehearted child, and your sarcasm made me cry crimson tears :(

Anders... the position was made available to everyone. No one from NA applied. It's probably a more thankless job than even Item Balancer is.

Last I checked, we weren't adding any maps that made one class completely unusable(cav).

Last I checked, we weren't adding any maps that made one class completely unusable(cav).

There is 4 Pathways for cav to take.

This map is not any different from the map that is currently in rotation where there is an uncrossable river and each team is separated by spawn locations on either side, there is only one bridge and one shallow path on the opposite ends of the map for cav to take.  That has two paths.

Edited: sorry, I accidentally clicked the submit button instead of the preview one, when I was still revising.

The original version wouldn't have made it in, yeah.

More cav-friendly basically.
